The listing for this does not say anything about the diameter of the mast - it's about 1". This was plenty stiff for supporting my outdoor WIFI antenna, but the hardware "muffler clamp" that came with the antenna could not go down that small, so I had to find another solution.

That said, this mounted easily enough and between rotating the antenna and adjusting the angle of the mast, it was easy to get a strong signal from the repeater 150 ft. away.

Tempest Wx Station on Philips antena j-mount

This is my second Tempest unit. The first, which I had for more than four years; was damaged by hurricane Milton. It was mounted about 4 feet above the ground on a mailbox mount. This time I used the bracket in the photo and mounted it about 15 feet above ground with the Philips j- mount. This mount by Philips was returned to Amazon and I purchased it for a steal ( < $20) compared to the braket that Tempest recommends for the tempest @ about $50. I mounted the Wx station base to a 1.3 inch OD PVC irrigation pipe and it fits over the antenna mount perfectly. There is a little bit of space that remains but you can wrap any type of tape other filler that you want to make a tight fit.
Assembly of the bracket was very easy; instruction are provided, but use the QR code feature for a nice short video presentation of the procedure. The mount is made of metal with a black flat finish. I would wholeheartedly recommend this mount to anyone who purchases the tempest or other weather station.
