The Philips Airfryer #HD9741/99 produces excellent quality food. It takes a bit of a learning curve to customize recipes for this air frying, but its wonderful results are worth the investment in time and patience. One of the minor issues I had was that its temperature settings come in 25-degree increments. To make chicken tenders, the recipe I used called for a 360-degree setting. I had to choose between 350 and 375, so I had to adjust the time a bit. Let me just add that these were the crispiest, tastiest nuggets I have ever made. The same was true with my experiment with grilled cheese sandwiches. Wow, perfect toasting and no greasiness. Roasted vegetables, also a hit. I am using this fryer more than I initially imagined.
This air fryer is a breeze to operate. Its operation is intuitively simple. Click the power button, set the temperature and click the button on the handle, set the time and click the button on the handle. Your off and cooking. It is also so easy to clean because of its multiple detachable parts: The easy-click handle is easily removed from the basket; The cooking basket, wire mesh bottom and fat reducer are dishwasher-safe.
Oddly, the Philips Airfryer #HD9741/99 comes with a user manual that does not include this model. After studying the manual carefully, I concluded that this model is a stripped down one. It does not include the accessories that the models mentioned in the manual have, such as the baking pan, grill pan, splatter proof lid, double-layer rack with skewers or variety basket. This oversight is annoying because the manual leads one to believe, at first glance, that there are missing parts. In addition, many of the recipes in the recipe book require these accessories, so I do not have the ability to test the full baking or grilling capabilities of the fryer. In addition, the print in pastel green and pink is difficult to read. I won't be using this recipe book much as a result unless I purchase the accessories.
FINAL THOUGHTS: I give this product a 4.5 (rounded to 5) rating. I subtracted half a star for the booklet corner cutting.
