Simultaneously Plays Music and Charges
The Philips docking system lets you connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad so you can wake up to your favorite music with full, clear sound. This system also automatically charges your device while it's docked--even with a case on--so you won't have to worry about running out of battery power.
The system also has a convenient second dock so you can charge two devices at the same time and a remote control that includes all functions.
Digital FM Tuner for Your Favorite Broadcasts
You can easily tune in to FM radio to get your morning news, traffic reports, or other live broadcasts. Presets let you store and access your favorite stations.
Dynamic Bass Boost Delivers Rich, Clear Sound
The docking system packs 10 watts RMS total output power. Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB) maximizes your listening enjoyment by enhancing the low end no matter the volume setting. This is similar to "loudness" features on other systems, and allows you to get consistent, full-range sound even at low levels. Philips also lets you dial it in with preset EQ curves for different musical styles (jazz, rock, pop, and classical) so you can get the most out of your music.
Dual Alarm Clock Settings for Weekdays and Weekends
A dual alarm feature lets you set different alarm times for weekdays and weekends or vary the alarm settings for you and a companion. You can wake to an FM radio station or to your favorite tunes on a docked device. A gentle wake feature gradually increases volume to wake you without jarring you out of sleep.

Auxiliary Input Lets You Connect an MP3 Player
The system's 3.5-millimeter jack lets you plug in MP3 players, CD players, or anything else with a line out. So if you have devices other than an iPod or iPhone, like a non-docking iPod shuffle, you can still enjoy your music over the system's speaker.
The Philips docking system is compatible with iPod touch 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation; iPod nano 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generation; iPod 5th generation; iPod classic; iPod mini; iPhone; iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and 4s; iPad and iPad 2.

Top customer reviews
The sound is ok. Nothing extraordinary but you wouldn't expect that from this price point in a clock radio.
I like that you can set the alarm for either weekdays or weekend. I like that it charges my iphone 5 (when using an adaptor). I like that the light can be dimmed--all the way to turned off.
What I don't like:
when the alarm goes off, if you aren't home (sometimes i forget to turn off the second alarm when i leave), it will stay on all day until you get home and turn it off. ALL of my other alarm clocks, including ones purchased 20 years ago or ones that only cost $20 will turn off after 59 minutes or so.
the alarm is not easy to set or change. you have to go through too many steps compared to my other clock radios. luckily i don't have to change mine often. And in fact, now that my phone is right there, if i have to have a different alarm, i will set my phone rather than change the ones on this.
when you press sleep mode, the next time it turns on it turns on much louder. i love clock radios that adjust slowly and i was spoiled with one that did this superbly. But this one is very choppy and makes big jumps and it is extremely jarring when you press sleep and the next time it is significantly louder.
i would like the clock brightness to stay where i set it until i change it. but it spontaneously changes back to bright---i think it might be triggered by the alarm going off but i am not entirely sure about that. But i keep it set on the lowest visible setting and it changes itself to the brightest setting....and every night i have to remember to change it back. not a huge deal....its just that i don't need to have another thing to take care of or remember.
overall, i decided to keep this as i don't see things out there that were better AND would also dock my ipad or iphone.
I have an ipod touch first generation which works perfectly with this system.
I use it for listening to music while reading or using it as an alarm clock.
There are two separate alarms, an easy to read screen, easy to use controls on top of the unit (that I will rarely use) and an included remote that allows you to do everything instead of using the aforementioned top buttons.
The only reason I am giving this four stars is that there appears to be no way to adjust the brightness of the display (if I can find a way to do this, I will upgrade the review to five stars) and the display does not include the song title (again, it might but I haven't found out how)
In summary, this was an excellent purchase, at a great price (bargain of the day) that I would enthusiastically recommend.
I did find a way to adjust the brightness but there are only three settings so still 4 stars
Someone sent a question regarding Android phones and using this player... my Galaxy S4 does connect with the included mp3 cable and the player does control the music player included on my S4 (I just use the default player).
For the price I got it for, I think it is still a good deal but if I would have paid any more for it, I would be deeply disappointed in the fact that the screen on the unit does not give any information about the song playing (you can, at least on the ipod touch, unlock the screen but again, I don't see any reason why this feature shouldn't be part of the player)
