I absolutely love the switch to turn it on and off. No more accidentally playing my audio while I'm in the middle of a conversation. And I love the menu system. It is so easy to configure with the Philips speech exec software. The possibilities for this go way beyond any of my own personal needs.
I don't normally brag up the seller of these products; however, let me tell you a story. When I install this software. It would not recognize my Dragon software installation. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to activate the voice recognition portion of this package. For that reason, after a week of struggling, I went to the Philips website looking for support. "I thought it was terrible." I could not find information to give me detailed instructions to fix this problem. After a couple of hours. I had made up my mind to call in on a support ticket and pay whatever the fee is for the support. I therefore called Philips and I got their tech support. The very first words out of his mouth were to tell me to go back to the person/business that sold me the software for assistance.
I don't know how you feel about this; but I get a little upset when the manufacturer turns me away from a service call. I offered to pay the standard fee for a technician to take over and patch up my installation. I told the technician I bought it from Amazon. And without realizing my confusion, I told him Amazon does not provide technical support for these products. (I should have been turning to the seller that put this product on the Amazon website. I assumed, and we all know about assumed, the Philips company had put this product up for sale on Amazon.
Phillips technical support, said that they would try to work with me and requested all of the specs of my computer, and my software, and even the peripherals. I submitted an email with all that information and waited a few more days. Finally, I was facing a deadline. I can return the product or get technical support to fix my installation. Therefore, I felt that most appropriate to announce to all Amazon customers, my experience with Philips company.
It was probably one of the best things I could have done. I received a telephone call from Amazon support. They were concerned about my report and wanted to know what they could do to help. Word gets around fast on the Amazon network. The Amazon support person was awesome and trying to help; but without actually knowing the product, really did not have much to offer for support. Except for one big thing! He offered to take the product back at full value. I was about to make that decision, when I got an incoming call on my call waiting.
I excused myself and check to see who was calling. Well, guess who? It was the seller, and I don't mean Philips company. After a few seconds for clarification, I excused myself from the Amazon technician on hold. I told him that the seller was going to work with me. And he did.
This seller cares very much about the reputation on Amazon. I can assure you, if you have any trouble with this product, their technical support people will get you 100% satisfaction. "Lickety-split!" He was awesome. I allowed him to log on to my machine, and he quickly went through making necessary changes and "voilà" everything was working.
