I am not sure what has happened here. I ordered this light strip as a Bluetooth controlled device. It works as advertised but I am unable to extend because of incompatible extensions. I tried to add a 40” strip and as I have shown in my pictures, they do not match at all. Did I get an old product? I ordered the original kit from amazon and the extension from Home Depot. They appear to be both Philips products but the amazon product does not have 3M tape on the back. Be careful when ordering. I will post a follow up on my resolution.
Update: apparently after I did some investigation, I found that it is likely that Amazon provided a version 3 product, and Home Depot sells the version 4 extension, philips does not sell an adapter. So I am unable to extend this product. The light strip itself is good but I cannot use it as intended.
