This light is a cool idea, but the battery life is horrid. It says that it can be "up to 3 hours". That could only be possible if the light was set to the dimmest setting, which practically you probably wouldnt do. So I keep it plugged in most of the time. When its plugged in it doesnt sit up all that well, in which case its just pointing straight up. I love Philips Hue products, but this was a disappointment.

im obsessed with my hue go's. especially the candle setting. HERE'S A GREAT TIP IF YOU ARE USING HUE WITH AMAZON ECHO (ALEXA): put the candle setting on by tapping the back of the hue go, and then tell alexa to raise the light to 100%. now you have a bright and flickering candle instead of a dim one. if you try to raise the brightness in the hue app, it will just raise the brightness and keep it solid color :-)

Wife and I love lamp! Produces a decent amount of light and the color range is amazing. Unfortunately it does require a Philips Hub to take advantages of wireless control and color changing. If you don't have a hub you can still change the colors by using the button on the back of the light.

I have read numerous reviews saying the light won't sit on it's side plugged it. Those are false. Rotate the power cord and the light actually uses the plug as a stand. Note, it is a little snug so be careful when unplugging it.

1st generation Amazon Echos require a Hub to use voice control. The Echo Plus (2nd gen) has a built in hub.

I want to like the Philips Hue Go Smart lamp, but it makes no sense. The design is kind of awful, it very easily rolls off its "perch" - a small plastic nub/ledge on the rounded side of the light. The control button feels award to use, and difficult to toggle thru, on the underside of the lamp. The cord is the WORST feature - a clumsy, long chord with a typical BRICK adapter. Are you kidding me... I don't need another A/C power & charger. Furthermore, the charge lasts approx. 1 hour, a very short time compared to typical wireless items. I'm very disappointing with this item, as I expected a worthy and savvy creation from Phillips. The color of the light is very nice. Otherwise, this item serves no useful purpose in terms of lifestyle.

Versatile and portable

This lamp looks nice, and works as advertised. If you want/need some accent lighting, I would recommend this, as it is quite versatile by not requiring to be plugged in at all times, though the battery only lasts about 3.5 hours. Also, the cord is replaceable (theoretically...they don't sell them, so good luck...but at least you can use a cord from a second device to charge in the meantime).

It's definitely different than the other lights, though, in that it can only be controlled through the hue bridge when it is on (or in standby mode, which only lasts 2 hours). Also, being portable makes you think about it a little more when you do configure it on the bridge (I made a separate room for it, since it bounces around rooms).

The downsides are that it isn't especially stable when sitting at an angle...it was very easy for my cats to knock it over, and the face scratches very easily. While the light still works, and the scratches don't affect the light, it makes you sad to see the scratches when the light is off.

It's fun, the colors are cool and the portability is a nice option.

Cons:
- the cable and way it attaches to the light. It should really be some sort of little dock that the light rests in and charges it. It's annoying to unplug and plug it in the way they designed it.
- lack of stability. The super simplistic and rather bland bowl shape does not lend well to being very stable. There is a super small flat piece to keep it in position but a tiny bump causes it to fall and roll around. A dock for charging would also be great to add more stability
- materials feel cheap. It's very cheap plastically feeling with rattles and all. Not refined.

Conclusion: Would not recommend unless you really love the hue system and need to spend some money on mor hue products just for fun. For the price it seriously needs a design upgrade. I have much of the Hue line of products and as most people say they are really overpriced for what you get. This one is no exception.

Bought refurbished from Pie O My for under $50. It arrived two days before the projected last delivery date. Very nice bright light with lots of colors including many variations of white. We're using it with our Echo's throughout the house and a Hue bridge without any issues. It was the first light I had to put the serial number in for to get it discovered. It's our 22nd Hue light in the house. They really are nice once you get past the upgrade costs.

I don't see a problem finding a universal adapter for it if it's ever needed. The plug is common enough and it's just 24Vdc 12W with center positive.

It could have a better more stable way of standing up. Also it could be made of a bit more sturdy materials considering the price. I'd hate to drop it on a hard surface.

These are great. Really good color variation and brightness, they can even be used as strobes. I have a dozen of them in a piece of furniture designed for shoes and control them using the Hue Disco app on my iphone. Another excellent Philips Hue product.

Creo que este es uno de los artículos que mas pasan desapercibidos de la linea de productos Hue de Phillips pero es el que mas gratamente me ha sorprendido, la lampara es de un muy buen tamaño y de un acabado plástico brillante en la parte exterior que rodea el circulo principal de la lampara y un acabado plástico mate en el circulo principal, luce un poco frágil y susceptible arañazos en la parte brillante pero le da un acabado bastante bonito y de muy buena calidad.

Describo lo que mas me gustó de este articulo

PRIMERO que es una lampara que esta enfocada como el nombre lo dice para ser portátil, ya que es de los pocos artículos de Phillips Hue que puede ser usado sin el Bridge o Hub de Phillips ya que cuenta con un botón en la parte de atrás de la lampara el cual permite apagar, encender o cambiar de color entre una serie de escenas predeterminadas, por lo que no necesitas el teléfono o algún otro accesorio para cambiar de color la lampara e incluso incluye una escena de luz que simula una vela y luce increíble visto de lejos sobre una mesa o una repisa en verdad piensas que es una vela, este estilo no se encuentra de manera predeterminada en ningún otro producto de la familia Philips Hue,

SEGUNDO, la duración de la batería tal vez no es tanta como se podría esperar pero bastante decente, depende mucho la intensidad del brillo pero sin problemas te puede durar unas 3 horas, cabe mencionar que en el modo portátil la intensidad de la luz de la lampara se encuentra limitada y solo podrás obtener el 100% de intensidad al momento de conectarla a la corriente.

TERCERO, La orientación de la conexión a la corriente, la lampara cuenta con un orificio en la parte de atrás para conectar a la corriente la lampara el cual es bastante discreto y profundo por lo que no rompe con el diseño y me parece un excelente acierto, pero aun mas que el cable tenga una forma especial en diagonal que hace que al conectarla a la corriente se pueda poner recargada la lampara hacia un costado apoyado en la protuberancia que tiene en la parte de abajo haciendo que el cable pueda pasar casi desapercibido, bien ubicado ese cable en una repisa queda completamente oculto haciendo lucir mas el diseño de la lampara.

CUARTO. Versatilidad, La versatilidad que tiene esta lampara es lo que mas me gusta de ella, puedes ponerla boca arriba, boca abajo, apoyada en el costado, proyectando hacia una pared, hacia el techo y en cualquier forma lucirá bien, pero lo mejor de todo es que es la lampara ideal para sacar provecho de la nueva aplicación propia de Philips llamada Hue Sync, esta aplicación es para un usuario con conocimiento técnico semi avanzado que con ayuda del Hue Bridge (Hub de conexión común de Philips del sistema de luces HUE) y con la aplicación Hue Sync instalada en una computadora Windows o Mac , permite configurar tus luces para que se sincronicen con la música que se este escuchando en la computadora o con una película o videojuego que se este viendo en la computadora e imita la reproducción de color que se este visualizando en pantalla con las luces lo cual crea un efecto de inmersión muy bueno al ver una película, ya que la calidad y velocidad de la sincronización es muy buena.

Definitivamente recomiendo esta lampara Philips Hue Go, pero aunque se puede usar sin necesidad del Bridge de Phillips Hue definitivamente lo necesitaras para sacar completamente provecho de ella.

El diseño es simple pero atractivo. Se ven muy bonitas y me parece que es el único o uno de los pocos productos Philips que te permite tener la luz de colores sin el "Hue Bridge" que adicionalmente cuesta $1200 aprox. Tengo dos de estas luces y en general las mantengo conectadas pero de vez en cuando me es muy útil que también sean wireless. La intensidad de la luz blanca es muy buena y los settings de colores son variados. Hay azul, rosa, naranja, verde, morado y luz cálida también. Con el hub podrias personalizar y poner prácticamente cualquier color y tono pero honestamente yo no lo hago. Los beneficios que te da comprar el aditamento extra son buenos y prácticos pero realmente no los necesitan, son más bien un "extra" muy bueno pero que te puedes ahorrar. En general estas pequeñas "esferas" de luz son más que suficiente por si solas. En cualquier otro producto Philips de este tipo si recomendaría comprar el Hub si el hecho de tener luz de colores es lo que te atrae.
Como adicional nunca se me han caido, pero si las he golpeado más de un par de veces y siguen intactas.

Bueno este producto lo adquirí hace un año y por desgracia las baterías internas de las lamparas ya dejaron de funcionar en ambas lamparas. Solamente funciona estando conectadas a la toma de la corriente. Una verdadera pena que no se puedan remplazar solo tengan esto en cuneta al momento de adquirir el producto.
