However, I was annoyed that many of the functions are only available via the remote and the clock never worked correctly from the first day.
That aside I gave this a fair shot with a wide variety of music and found the sound quality is only fair. For the price paid it is quite excellent but overall it isn't something that people should expect huge sound from.
The worst problem is that after only two months CD's occasionally wouldn't play, instead they would scan endlessly before spinning the opposite way and resulting in an error.
As time went on more and more CD's would not read at all the unit lost the ability to skip forward and backward among the songs on CD's it could read.
This is not just burned music but it affected even brand new shrink wrapped retail music so beware when buying this item.
The sound quality is excellent - for a system in this price range and size - better than most others I tried. Sound is clean and clear with no distortion. There are sufficient equalization and tone controls to adjust the sound as desired. Volume is excellent, with plenty of sound for reasonable small room listening at normal levels.
The remote control is well made and well designed, and easy to use.
So far, I am very pleased with this product. It serves my purposes perfectly.
The unit is very handsome, however it is not as thin as the pictures show. You have to be careful when iserting CDs -- you have to hold the player with one hand and put the CD in with the other, or it will tip over backwards. Shouldn't be a problem if you have it wall mounted.
Although the sound is good, it could be better, and does not have the deep, rich tones of my Aiwa. The sound is a bit "tinny", but tolerable. Even with the bass enhancement turned on, it's still lacking.
Otherwise, it was very easy to set up and start enjoying. I have had no issues with the CD door or playing CDs. I have only had this product for a week, so will keep an eye on it.
This unit is good for small areas and for people who want a decent system that doesn't take up a lot of space.
I paid [...] bucks with free shipping, and believe it was worth it.
I never write reviews on products, but I thought I would share my thoughts.

Still working after five years, a remarkable attainment in the age of throwaway electronics. Nice acoustics for such a streamlined radio/DVD player. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Dr. J.
I've bought three of these units for friends. I love the shelf system. For one friend, I hung it on the wall, which works so well for her. Read morePublished 10 months ago by Richard B. Green
