The SHE3580's are now called the SHE3590's, with the only difference being the available colors. These carry the very same dynamic drivers as the 3590's. Before I discovered these on head-fi dot org, for me the very best budget headphone was the Monoprice 8320. The thing with the Monoprice 8320 is despite the $3.00-8.00 price point, the comfort level of these nautilus shelled monstrosities is very challenging. While the sound is crisp, clear, and dynamic, they take replacing the stock tips, the fit is debateable, and the bass is very detailed but lacks any heft or boom. The Philips SHE3580's on the other hand deliver crisp, clear, balanced sound, with bass that reaches deep, but never bloats or bleeds into the mids, and still allows the mids and highs to maintain clarity and sparkle. The drivers are small, and the housings are as small or smaller than the champs of comfort, the Sennheiser CX 300II's, while delivering sound that simply kicks the CX 300II's all over the yard, and at a price that's about $40-50 LESS!! When you put this all together, and simply purchase a headphone clip that costs maybe $1.00 or less, to control any microphonics that might be annoying (honestly I used my sennheiser clip, but the microphonics from the cheap wire isn't that bad, and I could just as well go without the clip, but some people are just picky or overbearing) from the relatively thin wire. Isolation is average, but definitely works to block out most noise, but allows you to hear important noises. Add it all up, and you simply have THE VERY BEST budget headphones in the UNIVERSE! You simply cannot beat the depth of dynamics and clarity with bass delivery in these headphones, and find it at this price. These are the sound kings of the budget world, and I'm very happy to have a pair.

Anyone who has kids or needs a pair of knockaround in-ear headphones can not lose with the 3580s. Excellent, deep extended bass, and after a bit of burn-in, clean clear highs and mids. They also respond very well to an EQ (using the EQUALIZER app on my iPhone4) if you find the treble a bit too, uh, trebly.

Not sure the people who rate them as horrible are really hearing them properly. My guess is a poor fit, because they are tuneful, extended and all in all, one of the best bargains in all of electronics on Amazon or anywhere else. Can't miss, and I own several high end in-ear phones, including a pair of $450 customs, and a couple pair of $200+ universals from ACS and Westone.

I have really small ears. Most earbuds don't fit right and end up falling out or (worse) causing me pain so I can never wear them. Each time I try a new set thinking they'll be the right ones I am always disappointed and return to standard over the ear headphones...until these!
I saw these at Target and was super excited over the fact that they came with three different sizes. I knew the largest would never work so I figured I would start small and work up. The smallest size fit perfectly! I'm a journalist so I like being able to plug in headphones to transcribe some of my interviews. I used these in the newsroom today and had no problems hearing my recording - I also was unable to hear the random conversations around my desk. I was unbelievably happy!
These are great and excellent for the price! If you have smaller ears and have difficulty with standard earbuds, I highly recommend trying these - I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I got these sweet little 'buds as a birthday present and threw them in my drawer until my other earbuds broke. I am honestly disappointed that I did not take them out earlier. The fit is amazing and blocks out almost all sound. I really enjoy the decent lows and clear highs and mids. The plastic has a slightly cheap feel, but its bright colors and rubber wire more than make up for it. I have walked through a college campus with my iPod volume pretty low and had no problems hearing all the parts of Hey Soul Sister. For such a low price, this earbud is highly recommended! Buy immediately!

These are the best earphones (they are not headphones) for the money and fit. I have tried so many different ones over the years. No, they don't have the BEST sound, but they do have very good sound and are extremely light and small and comfortable. So very convenient for using around the house, while mowing, and under a motorcycle helmet. I have been using a few pair for over a year. Even though the cords are very thin and flexible, neither pair has failed... although I recently lost a pair (has to be somewhere around here, will probably find them one day). So I just bought four more pair off Amazon to have as spares. Great stuff. Great price.

I can't use the regular earphones that seem to come with everything. Ears too small? funky ears? No idea but the in ear buds are the only things that work.

The sound through these is absolutely fantastic! I've gone though a lot of earbuds and these are by far the best I've purchased. The Pink color also helps keep my sons from nabbing them!

Good sound, great in ear fit and compact. Cord picks up a little more noise than I'd like. I have worse, but I've had better. The Panasonic 120's for less than half the price have less cord noise, but aren't as comfortable.

A little pricey for $15, the new version is less than $10. These are supposed to have better sound than the new version, which may or may not have gone through a design change a year or so ago.

Supposedly the original 3590s were identical, some say they are different now. I don't know. Got these because they're supposed to be a great deal in audio. I haven't decided yet, still breaking them in and the treble seems a little harsh.

Still, clear balanced sound with a wide sound stage and good imaging for the price. I hesitate to spend more than this on ear buds since I lose/break them most of the time.
