The flat cord is actually useful, because it keeps the headphone wires from untangling. I also love the detachable y divider, which lets you keep your headphones from becoming a mess. The magnetic feature is a nice touch, especially when I'm listening to music with one earbud (I use to tie the headphones into a knot at the end to keep the other earbud from flailing around). One earbud also has 3 dots on its handle, so you can differentiate between left and right without looking. The music control works great for my Galaxy SIII and the angled 3.5mm connector keeps it out of the way when I play games in landscape.
I am no audiophile, but any music I listened to sounds great! The original sound seems flat, but that doesn't really concern me because I use equalizer to adjust the sound anyway. The quality is not the same as other $200 headphones, but it is great for the price.
I love these headphones and I would recommend them to anybody for its design and function. Especially when they're only $25 a pair.
WARNING ABOUT THE BUILT-IN MIC: The mic itself works, but be cautious if you plan to use the built-in mic on a computer. Many computers (including mine, unfortunately) fail to recognize both the speakers and the microphone when you plug them into the headphone jack, but this IS NOT the fault of the product. The mic works great in phones, ipods, and other machines made to run off only a headphone jack.
These headphones have been pretty good. I've had them since April and use them all the time. I highly recommend that if you get these, that you break off the pointless slider. It has caused the cord to start breaking at the Y split. At this point the plastic casing is starting to come loose from the wires and there are exposed wires at the junction of the slider and the Y split.
That said - I tend to be really hard on headphones. These have done quite well and for the price, I'm pretty pleased with them.
Really long cord from the Y split. The slider is pointless.
I like the sound. They are good for the price.
Also the ear buds don't stick in the ears that well and pop out if wire is slightly tugged on (comes with 3 sizes), get's annoying.
Unlike in the video when you slide up the "zipper" thing that adjusts the location of where the wires split is annoying. One wire tends to pop out of it and can be tedious to slide back in.
When you slide the zipper to the top it creates a loop where the wires supposedly stick together.
And to top it off the sound quality ain't that great. I went from the newest Ipod headphones (which have their own issues) to this and the ipod headphones are superior - sound wise.
Although the only thing that is working as I had hoped is the headphone jack which is at a 90 degree angle and prolongs the life of the wire. This is why I had to switch from the ipod headphones cause that area always seemed to fall apart on me.
Just a warning one time I yanked the jack to quickly out of my phone and the jack separated from base but fortunately they were easily rejoined with no further issues.
For the price it's probably not the worst but if you can get something better for a few bucks more go for it.
With that being said, the quality is fantastic. The iPhone mic piece works perfectly. My friend told me that it sounds like I am not even using an external speaker.
The sound quality is great as well. I has Sennheisers before this, same pricepoint, and they sound just as good. I am very pleased with these!
I clarified with philips customer care and they stated the fact that wrong info is displayed on amazon website.
well after doing research on web I found that an adapter which will make them work with the phone. but still amazon should edit the description. Otherwise they offer good enough sound quality when i tried pairing with my laptop, better than the stock earphones.
