I was really excited to try this shaver. I usually use my trusty Schick Quattro for Women Razor with 2 Ultra Smooth Razor Blade Refills Enhanced with Papaya and Pearl Complex to shave my legs, etc., but I was curious if this electric shaver could do better.The shaver is pretty much ready to go out of the box. It has several different attachments: the shaver base, the regular shaver head (it comes attached to the base), the bikini area shaver (it comes with a plastic cover on it), a bikini area comb, a shaver cover, and a weird plastic piece that is supposed to lift hair before the shaver shaves it, thereby giving you a closer shave (allegedly).I allowed my leg hair to grow a bit longer than I usually do (for about 1.5 weeks), just so I could easily see how well this shaver did. I charged the shaver up completely and prepared myself to be amazed. And then...nothing. Seriously, with my first pass on my leg, the shaver got almost none of my hair. To be clear, I am a fair-skinned person without a whole lot of body hair, so this baffled me. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong and proceeded to try just about everything I could do to shift my position this way, hold the razor that way, add more of angle here, now less of an angle there. In the end, I realized that this razor just doesn't work very well. I was only able to get an almost-smooth shave after going over an area multiple times and from multiple different directions. To shave both of my legs completely, it took me about 30 minutes. In all fairness, the shave did end up lasting longer than a shave from a razor, but what a time suck.As for the bikini area attachments...oh, dear God. You're only going to want to use those if you really hate yourself. The comb is fine, but the actual bikini trimmer pulls like a mother. It hurts so bad. And even worse, it doesn't give you anything even remotely close to a smooth shave. All that pain for nothing.It was only after I tortured myself with this shaver for about an hour, that I remembered that I haven't found a single electric shaver in all my years of shaving that works as well as my basic razor. I wish that electric razors could deliver better results, but, for now, I'm sticking with my Schick.
