Like others have expressed, we too were surprised to find that the Philips Blu-ray player we purchased did not include an adapter (or internal receiver) to wirelessly connect to our router... the packaging it came in did not make this obvious at all. However, the player worked quite well and it was much less expensive than other choices. Since our main goal was to get a decent player, we decided to keep it and research connectivity options.

This network adapter did the trick, and the price of the player and the adapter still totals less than 50% of what the stores wanted for other Blu-ray players. Setting up the wireless router was easy, though a bit time consuming because the player's method of entering letters and number (like for the router password) is just not super user friendly. Once done, the machine worked very well.

Now we play Pandora and access both Netflix and Vudu on a regular basis via the wireless connection that this adapter allows.

As another reviewer mentioned, there is one little connectivity hitch that is fairly easy to deal with... each time that we turn our Philips Blu-ray player off it forgets that the wireless connection should be set as the default connection. When we turn the player back on, the default looks for a hard-wire option that does not exist (in our case) and the system returns an error message saying that no connection exists. This is an issue with the Blu-ray player NOT this adapter, so I can not fault the adapter for the quirky issue.

If you get this error message too, resolving is just a matter of reminding the player that the wireless connection exists and it takes 30 seconds.

I was disappointed when I purchased the philips box to find out that it required this adapter to bring in the wifi. The box is misleading to say the least. So I purchased this on amazon. It brings in the wifi, but the signal is weak and netflix is constantly re-buffering. I thought it was my wifi, but when I purchased the "apple tv" box for my son, it worked perfectly. So it's a problem only with this philips box and adapter. Wish i knew about apple tv before i made this purchase.

This item is required to get the full functionality of the DVD player. Works great, but I'm disappointed that the player required the adapter in the 1st place.

The item works as it is suppose to. I read some reviews were it was said that the USB adapter loses connection everytime the blu-ray player is shut off. I have yet to encounter this problem. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. I feel being this is absolutely needed to get the Philips player wifi capable it's a little pricey. Had I known what my total investment would cost I would have gotten a different blu-ray player. But overall if you need this I would recommend.

The company we ordered this from was awesome. The thumb drive didn't work for us but it was an issue with our Blu-ray player and not the actual thumb drive. The company was awesome helping me trouble shoot. Will definitely use them again when/if needed!

Works perfect with ZERO connection issues. I used it for my sons blue ray player so he could have Netflix in his room. His room is on the opposite side of the house from where our Wi-Fi box is at. I'm very happy with this product.
