It is fully regulated to assure that a constant, accurate DC power is delivered to different kinds of electronics and electrical appliances. The rotary selector for choice of 6 voltages ( 3 , 4.5, 6 ,7.5, 9 ,12 VDC), with any currents not more than 2000mA, e.g. portable TV sets, video games, tape recorderes, radios, scanners, boom boxes, etc. The red and black binding posts enable easy connection.

Was happy to get this to work on my robot I'm building. Sad :-( to find out it can't handle the workload (NO FAULT OF THE UNIT) fault is with me not sizing it right. If needed one this size I would buy it again

Everything is as advertised, item works great, I bought through Gatordrums and they couldn't have done better. HOWEVER, if your into electronics like I am, know that while this IS indeed a variable supply, the variables have been chosen for you. You will get 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, or 12 volts EXACTLY. If you're looking for a fixed 5 volt power supply or something, this will not give you 5 volts, you'll get 4.5 or 6 volts (for example). Unless you can work your way around it... Thanks , that's all!

No. Red and Black. Don't know why the photo is in black and white, but the terminals I received on both models I bought are red and black as they should be. Measured output with a calibrated DVM and am happy to report it's well within tolerance. The small foot print and common voltage ranges was what I was looking for and enough current to power all of my small projects without the need for a bulkier bench power supply.

I use it to replace the standard switching variable voltage power supply for an audio cooling fan and at the 9v DC setting the cooling fan is actually more quite with the Philmore than when using the 9v DC setting with the switching power supply???? 9v DC is 9v DC isn't it, why the fan is less noisy with the linear power supply, I can't explain, it just is.......

Works as advertised. Solid construction, good cooling, consistent voltage. Every time it powers up or changes voltage, however there is a voltage spike so I recommend you put a capacitor across its outputs whenever using it with sensitive components.
