(ways to philosophical thinking). Till 1989 it was edited 20 times.
It contains the 10 lectures about fundamental questiones in philosophy that Bochenski held in 1958 in an Bavarian broadcasting station (Bayerischer Rundfunk). The chapters in this book are as follows:
Das Gesetz - The Law
Die Erkenntnis - Perception
Die Wahrheit - Truth
Das Denken - Tinking
Der Wert - Worth (value)
Der Mensch - Men (human)
Das Sein - Being
Die Gesellschaft - Society
At first Bochenski explains the meaning and importance of these questiones for philosophy and cites the answers that were given by other thinkers. Then he describes his opinion and the reason for it. Never he claims that he alone knows the truth. Other matters of opinion may be grounded on other basic standpoints or may be true in other systems of thinking.
Bochenski was member of the Dominican order. But only in the last chapter he refers to "his" topic: God. "The philosopher needs God not to adore/worship him but to have a means to beware a rational view of the world."
God or reason - it does'nt matter: sooner or later we will vanish in nothingness.
