Format: Paperback
A great introduction to some of the important topics in general philosophy. I took a class in critical thinking from Professor Davis in 1988. He used this book as the primary reading. I kept the book through the years because of its originality. I am a fan of science fiction literature and philosophy. This book bridges the two disciplines. In addition to original literature, the book includes traditional writings and analysis of the classic philosophers. Major topics include Free Will, Existence of God, The Nature of the Mind, Appearance and Reality, and Logic. If you want an introduction to philosophy that is not too boring or too insulting of your intelligence, then check this one out. The course Professor Davis taught was interesting enough to convince me to minor in philosophy. And this book was one of the reasons I did so.
