Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The author showcases how one can reduce a complex phenomena to its conceptual/ontological simples by simply cutting out all the complexity in need of reduction. Forget the questions pertaining to experiential aspects of reality. His favored example - memory -- is so truncated vis a vis its behavioral manifestations (I question whether the author has any clear idea about what is known beyond molecular correlates of a few aspects of memory) that the reduced phenomena bear no substantive relation to the "reality" supposedly being targeted. Ridiculous Reduction seems to me a more pat title than Ruthless (although "ruthless" is appropo in some less-than-flattering ways).
