Wrong author listed, wrong product description, legibility of printing subpar. I attempted to write the actual author, a doctor of philosophy, about the product page mix up. Despite the wrong author and product description, the book delivered was the correct book--only in an unreadable form for anyone with old eyes or impaired vision. The book itself--the correct book--is well-written, and in digital form would be a good read.

Great book!
Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2015
This is an outstanding collection of great short stories and thoughtful essays on philosophical topics within those works. I first read it in an upper-level "Science Fiction and Philosophy" course I took in college in the early 2000s.
Some of the topics and tales I find most interesting:
On Knowledge and the Meaning of Life: 'Solaris' by Stanislaw Lem
On Trips through Time and Logical Space: 'All You Zombies' by Robert Heinlein (one of the best stories EVER)
On Persons, Minds, and the Essentially Human: 'The Bicentennial Man' by Isaac Asimov
On Moral Dilemmas: 'Seventh Victim' by Robert Scheckley
On Technology and Human Self-Transformation: 'The Machine Stops' by E.M. Forster
Each topic begins with an insightful introduction by Philips, includes several stories, and ends with study questions. Philosophy and Science Fiction is a great resource, and lots of fun!

Mind you, this is NOT a review of Philllips' Philosophy & Science Fiction, but an attempt to alert readers to the fact that the description given on the Amazon page is surely a mistake. "Look Inside" and check the Table of Contents: there's no way this book consists of "cutting-edge gender controversies in moral and political philosophy.."

I really liked the book and its selection of Sci-Fi readings--especially the inclusion of Solaris.
The introductions to the several philosophical issue are nice.
I recommend it.
