Grace is a strong woman and a well written strong female throughout this story. I applaud that. She didn't fall to pressure, she stuck by her values. Regardless of the outcome. I love a strong female character. She suffered tragedy but overcomes it and while there is temptation in front of her, she will stick to her guns and do what's right by her.
Then there is Jared. Jared is a complicated character that I am not sure I really trust him or have him figured out. Even at the end I am not sure. The twists and complications with his character kept me wondering throughout the story. But his interaction with Grace was hot. Erotic. Wet panty emotional, pour water on me to cool me off hot. Sexy as hell. He was like the wind. Come and go. Never know when he blows in next. He was truly a character that was well thought out and well written.
I loved the tie into politics and it was believable. Even if it wasn't true, I'm no political expert, but it was realistic. I enjoyed the plot line that had my heart racing and aching sometimes at the same time. Now to download the next book.
Grace Colton lost her family to gun violence. Trying to make the world safer for other families, she runs and is elected to The U.S. House of Representatives. A few years later, she finds herself being courted by two Candidates running for President to run as their Vice-President. She also gets caught in a web of secrets of a sexy, controlling political annalists. If you enjoy shows like the ones I previously mentioned, you have to read this book. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
It wasn't bad! It really wasn't. It just wasn't particularly exciting to me (despite my love of politics), nor did anything unexpected or groundbreaking occur. The characters were developed, but not particularly complex, and despite the fact that they had sex a lot, there were pretty tenuous reasons for them to love each other.
But like I said, it was a pretty adequate read. I wanted to get behind it more, I just couldn't.
