I ride a bike every day and use a phone holder like this to watch TV while I ride. It's a VERY enjoyable way to exercise.

I have been through several of these, different types - some rubber band kinds and some like this, but the difference is: This is a step above the rest in terms of build quality and materials. We have real metal, high-grade plastic, and rubber in here, folks (LOL).

Honestly, this phone holder is the best I have bought. It incredibly sturdy, rugged, and very functional. It comes with a quick release (again, sturdy metal) nice high-grade plastic and rubber components. There is a lock in the back to set your phone in securely without ANY possibility of it falling out. NONE of the other phone holders I have bought had ANY of these great features, and they were cheapo materials that broke or wore out in a year or less.

This phone holder is motorcycle-grade, which means using it on a bicycle makes great sense if you understand motorcycle holders have to be better than bike holders. They are subject to greater stresses in use.

I doubt I will have to buy another one of these. It looks built to last a lifetime. No one paid me a dime to write this.

very simple install, no tools required. Many layers of rubber allow you to use wider or narrower section of your handlebar. My thick section required the longest and shortest pieces and then you turn the handle to tighten, same as a quick release axle skewer. The phone deck pivots on a ball, so get it set to the angle you like, then really tighten the ring and it remains that way, even with serious jolts. The sliding the phone in or taking it out is very simple. I didn't try riding over rough roads without the lock. Flipping it is very easy, just a little flip switch beneath the phone deck, so easy, why skip it to see if the springs are strong enough?

Multiple mounting options for different sized frames and bike configurations. I liked mine so much, I ordered a second for my wife's recumbent trike. The tube on her trike was much larger than my handlebar tube but easy to fit by removing two of the supplied rubber spacers. The mounting ball can be titled in any direction to get the mount oriented just where you want it. Also, very easy to clip my Iphone 12 in and out of the mount. The mount is secure enough that we don't even use the "lock" feature.

I currently have 5 bicycles in my garage, and all of them have phone holders. They invariably break or loosen to an extreme and I end up using rubber bands to hold the phones in place, at least until I buy a replacement. Most of the problems stem from the fact that there are two knobs that need to be turned, which I think is one too many, plus four moving clips. This phone holder has only one knob and one spring loaded top clip. My phone (iPhone 12) is held extremely snugly. There is zero concern that my phone will come loose but there is also a red locking tab on the back to make it even more secure. You can't go wrong with this phone holder.

I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with this product. Would it hold my phone? Would it be sturdy? Was the lock button necessary to engage for every ride???

As it turned out I could relax! This holding tool has my back. I have owned this product for about 1 month and it has been extremely reliable.

The spring that holds things down is strong enough that I pretty much immediately stopped utilizing the "lock" button. The roads I travel are significantly holey, bumpy, and rough in general and I no longer am concerned that my phone will pop out regardless of the ferocity of the bump. This container is just a rock-star. No matter how bumpy it is, I've never even observed my phone getting "jiggled" within the embrace of this tool.

*update - after about a month and a half I hit a bump big enough that I removed my hands knowing that the bump would be unpleasant to feel ripple through my shoulders and body. So it was about 1-3 inches of a pavement drop and the phone mount gave up the ghost and my screen hit the ground hard enough to shatter the protector. A good test of what can happen! Has not reduced my satisfaction in the least. I still don’t use the switch on the back. Though I may have stopped taking this bump as fast and try to avoid it again. (End update)

The only thing I have found to criticize is the advertisement. The advertisement clip in amazon showed that you could easily twist from portrait mode to landscape mode - but in order to do that, you would need to allow for free rotation on the ball joint behind the device (at least my experience has told me that). If you had that free rotation, though, it would also mean that the angle of your device would probably dip up/down and side to side while you ride. I prefer that the pitch & angle does NOT change so I have locked that ball joint down (via tight hand twisting) to handle the bumpy ride and not move around. So far so good!

It is a little tricky to decide how many inserts to use around your handle bars and it may not be "perfect" since there is so much variety in handle bar size, but hopefully you can lock it down with the included items, too.
