first of all to the folks who put a bad review because they dont have a use for the app: just dont review it. i am not thrilled about every app that is free, and how could amazon just deliver apps that appeal specifically to one-star rater's tastes?
now,to the app. i downloaded it, intalled it and opened it on my G2 without a hitch. i then opened this image i had of a frog camoflagued against a like colored background. guess what? this app made the frog pop. and guess what else? thats all the app claimes to do. furthermore digital cameras (in my experience) always has trouble with the red channel. also with introducing too much red in indoor settings when incandesent lighting is not bright wite ,but yellowish in cast. this app fixes that too.
If you don't appreciate the subtleties of photography, if you expect this app to make masterpieces out of crap...forget it. It's called Photo Enhance, not photo miracle The app does exactly as advertised, that is, it improves what's there. If it's trash, you'll get enhanced trash. But if it's just not quite right - so often the case with phone cameras - it will do what it purports to do. It's still "garbage in, garbage out." You have to do your part.
my DROIDX takes pictures just fine, I suppose it brightens up the photo to make it look like it was taken In daylight just fine. But it also oversells the smallest of detail to look way to bright as well. so it sort of cancels its self out if you ask me. Neat idea, but there is such thing as to much pop. And this app thrives on it (50% of the pics) Very nice black and white transformations, its more of an HD black, than a classic picture you found in your attic of your grandparents grandparents black and white. But your thoughts are as good as mine, to each there own.
I've been using this app today on several photos that really needed some improvement. I started with a moon shot I took last month. I took a closeup of the moon so you can see the craters. By using Photo Enhance Pro I was able to darken the craters to enhance them and to give them some depth. When I went back to my Gallery I was pleased to see that both the enhanced photo and the original were there. I wasn't expecting that. This app will be very useful to me. I don't download apps even if they are free unless I really intend to use them at least once a week. I'll be using this app quite often to make my good photos look great. I gave this app 5 stars because it does what it claims to do plus it saves the enhanced photo and old photo. I just wish people who aren't computer literate wouldn't rate apps they don't understand how to use. I find that 1 star ratings are a waste of space and useless. I only read people's ratings of 3 stars and higher. I figure people who rate 1 star are either jealous because they aren't smart enough to develop an app or they just can't stand someone being successful. Oh, the video tutorial was a great help demonstrating what this app can do to enhance photos.
Love taking pictures on my D2 and love editing and playing around with the various shots i take...this app brilliantly sharpens and shades photos. Very much worth downloading as today's free app imo. Not as "kid friendly" as picsay, etc as it doesnt have idiotic stickers and draw on moustaches for your pictures...but it's great in its own right
I probably own every photo editing app worth owning (and some not worth owning). I've used Photo Enhance Pro for quite some time. This is an app that you can't really compare to most of the others. It serves one purpose: enhancing your photos while maintaining their integrity. It's not about special filters or effects. If you can understand that about the app, you will appreciate it so much more.
Since it supports high resolution output (which many editors do not), I generally start my photo editing with this app and then, if I want to add filters or any other effects, I do so afterwards with other apps. Another wonderful thing about PEP is its ease of use; you can do one-touch editing or, if you're more of an advanced user, you can also have full control.
Also, those comparing this to Photoshop Express have either never used it or have never used Photoshop on a computer. I'm a graphic and video designer; I love Adobe's image editing software titles. Photoshop Express, however, is one of the worst image editing apps on the market. Huge disappointment.
Also, if you feel your images aren't improved, try learning the various adjustments. This takes a lot of time to master. However, more often than not, an image's output looks bad as a result of the edited adjustments, not the application used to do it.
This is a very fine application. And I like seeing a developer who is so involved with his product. That's very refreshing.
This is an amazing photo editor that really does optimize your photograhs quality. It works brilliantly. It has a one click option to fix your photographs as well as individual options to manually correct your work. You can also crop your photo without quality loss.
I highly recommend this app. Plus the customer service if you have a question is outstanding.
