Rubinstein is getting harder to find. Marco Polo had a real interest in his work before Naxos took over their catalog and did not preserve all entries. This disc is well engineered and the artist has a touch which I can only describe as very compatible with what I experience as Russian romanticism. Playing is clean and expressive. There is no feeling that either the orch3estra or the soloist is competing with the other. I liked the disc a lot.
