Note. This is not a Sharpie replacement. This is it's own tool.
I am a Field Engineer with 20 years of real world hands-on experience repairing, installing, and maintaining all sorts of equipment. I thought this would be nice for marking deep holes for drilling concrete anchors (it’s claim is that it’s for marking deep holes). Well, it works just a tiny bit better than my old Sharpie pens that I’ve been using forever. It is a little better at the “deep hole” aspect, but it’s also much wider and I can’t fit it in the tight spaces any better than a Sharpie. Also, the felt writing tip is fragile so it frays out the first time you use it in a “deep hole” and becomes nearly useless for actual day-to-day writing.
If you want to blow $30 for three markers to look nerd-cool to you coworkers, go for it. If you actually just need a pen to do real world paying-the-mortgage work, just get a box of cheap permanent markers and have a steak dinner with the money you save.
If you’re here because Adam Savage sent you, let me tell you that I have now bought 3 tools based on his recommendations and have been sorely disappointed in each. This pen company should issue a “limited edition” Adam Savage Star Wars release and charge $60 a box... they will sell like hot cakes.
