4.0 out of 5 stars a lesser quality moleskine, but works perfectly fine. loving it!
By Brenda S. on August 4, 2016
I got this notebook a few days ago, and I'm really liking the vibe I get from it. I had a Moleskine before, but I was looking for cheaper alternatives.I was looking for a notebook that I could use for my bullet journal that wasn't too expensive and didn't show bleeding (uh... of the pen, not me). Someone recommended the Piccadilly on Tumblr, so I thought I'd try it out!

Pros:
-good paper! it's thicker than the moleskin paper, which was wayy too thin for me. I use Stabilo pens for color, and it doesn't bleed through the paper.
-more pages than the moleskin!
-it's cheaper. better for my poor wallet :')
-essentially is very, very similar to the Moleskine
-the lines (at least for squared notebooks) are blue in the moleskine, but dark (maybe black?) in the Piccadilly, which gives it a cleaner look

Cons:
-you can tell it's kind of a knockoff moleskine notebook. When I got the notebook, the top of the cover was a little deformed because of the elastic band that dug into it, so it's kind of like an indent. It kind of bothers me.
-the leather cover of the notebook has an imprint of the band on it
-paper is a bit more yellow than moleskine pages
-there are like... streaks where the light hits the cover? the moleskine has that too, but it's a lot more noticeable on the Piccadilly
-some pages aren't bound at the same places others are, so the end of the notebook looks a little wonky
-binding doesn't let the pages go flat like the Moleskin does, so you have to properly break the spine of the Piccadilly (just do a quick google search). The moleskine will lay flat even without you breaking the spine, but the Piccadilly doesn't. I think it's a matter of binding differences

I have more cons than pros, but don't let it fool you! A lot of my cons are based on an aesthetic perspective, not a functional perspective. All in all, it's a good notebook. I ordered a Leuchtturm in case I didn't like this, but I think I'll probably stick to these notebooks from now on. It might be a little less quality than the Moleskine, but the thicker pages + more pages was something I really liked, and as long as it's a good quality notebook, I don't care about dents or pages that stick up.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gel pens bleed through; otherwise well-made.
By E. Grae on November 14, 2016
I purchased this for daily journal use; I already owned a similar one, but found that gel-type pens bled through the pages of that one, as did Sharpies. Many reviews for this item said that wasn't a problem, so I ordered it; unfortunately bleed-through is definitely a problem. You can't use Sharpies in it at all. Gel-type pens (roller balls, etc.) are visible from the other side of the paper, and depending on the color and the pen bleed through also. See photo below; the purple mark is Sharpie, and the orange and black ones are Pilot G-2 gel pens).

The other main disappointment was that the elastic band that wraps around to hold the cover closed had left a decent-sized dent in the cover itself when I received it (second photo).

The interior back pocket is pretty narrow and difficult to access, so don't expect to use it often or for more than a slip or two of paper; trying to crack it open seems like it will damage the binding/ spine of the book more than it's worth.

Other than the above, it's nicely well-made and as advertised, so it's a solid journal, just not perfect nor exactly as the reviews I read made it seem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alittle Pricey but I love these notebooks.
By IronChefMIk on May 17, 2012
While these notebooks are pricier than I would prefer, I still like them to use at work. For the most part they are pretty sturdy. This is the third one I have purchased. The first one I bought lasted a little over a year until I dropped it and the binding in the back tore. The second one I purchased lasted for for over a year until I filled out every page. I particularly like the graph paper versions. My job requires the occasional construction sketch. If you like keeping a dedicated work notebook then these are an excellent choice. If the price was a little cheaper I would have no problem giving them a 5 out of 5.

Update: I have tried the Moleskin equivalent, which is nice, but I still prefer the Piccadilly version. The Moleskin have much darker grid lines and the binding is not as flat as the Picadilly ones. Next I will try Google's version, but for now the Piccadilly are my favorite.
