Victoria Dalpe is a writer and visual artist based out of Providence, RI where she lives with her husband and their son. From the attic window they can see the spot where HP Lovecraft's ancestral home once stood... alas, it's now a Starbucks. Victoria loves horror movies, reads too much, and has a soft spot for painting animal skulls.

Five years ago when my wife shamed me into picking up my pen again, one of the first things I started writing was a mash up novel of Lovecraftian characters, and I really wanted Herbert West to be part of that team. Unfortunately, I'm a stickler for established chronologies, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't tell the story I wanted to tell with West in it.
Enter Dr. Stuart Hartwell.
He was the perfect solution, he had all of West's skills, but his timeline was mine to play with. But, I didn't know who he was, or what motivated him. So I wrote a story about him, and another, and then another. Quickly the mash up novel was set aside and all my time was spent focused on Hartwell. Those stories became the novel Reanimators.
Now, just a year later that mash up novel I wanted to work on. The one that was called at various times The League of Lovecraftian Gentlemen, The Miskatonic Club, The Miskatonic Men's Aide Society, The Arkham Oddfellowes - well that became The Weird Company and that hits the streets in September.
Hartwell is back, but this time he's not alone, he and his cohort have been recruited by . . .
Well you'll just have to read the book now won't you.
This is the book I wanted to write from the start, and if you liked Reanimators, you will adore The Weird Company.

After raising a family and doing a mess of other things, I've started writing. "It is the Sweetest" was my first published story. My story, "Secret Santa", is available in the "Deadman's Tome - Cthulhu Christmas Special". while "The Pickman Revival" appears in the anthology, "Pickman's Gallery". "The Pulp Horror Book of Phobias" is being published in May, and contains my story, "Halfpenny". More to come!
A little about me:
I’m a husband of 30+ years, father of three and grandfather of five, living in the greater Portland, OR metro. Currently a cardiac telemetry technician with the VA, I served as a combat medic with the 101st Airborne Air Assault Div. (Desert Storm) and with the 2nd Stryker Brigade, 25th Infantry Div. (Iraqi Freedom). I’ve sold tires for Firestone and frozen food for Schwan’s, inspected EKG cables, delivered for Domino’s, been an elf at Santa’s Village and provided security at raves, concerts and other events. I enjoy writing and reading, the martial and healing arts, cooking, gardening and many other things.

He has also written comic books, including the "Earth Boys" series that appeared in Dark Horse Presents and Isaac Asimov's i•Bots for Tekno Comix. He began writing horror fiction in 2015, producing short stories for numerous anthologies and magazines. A Winter's Tale, an original anthology co-edited with Charles R. Rutledge and James R. - Randol Craver...
In the case of Pickman's Gallery, there were a number of those, but the one that takes the crown had an ending that made me stare and say, "Damn. Oh, *damn.* ...*Daaaaaamn.*"
That one, alone, would have been sufficient to secure a place on my bookshelf. As it is, it had plenty of company in this book.

A great selection, and a great read for the Lovecraft fan.
Text is a bit small, and unable to change text size or orientation on a small screen, but worth persevering!
