This fuse holder IS NOT, IS NOT, IS NOT WATERPROOF!!! It could be considered water resistant or maybe splashproof, but NOT WATERPROOF. I had purchased 50 or so of these to use under the hood of police cars as the main siren/lightbar fuse and now after about 8-12 months of service, all of the cars have trouble with poor voltage at the control box because of corrosion in the fuse holder. No matter where I have installed it under the hood or which way I have positioned the holder water seems to always get in. I have made them work by applying some silicone grease to the contacts, but I will not use any more of these. This same style holder is sold as waterproof everywhere so be careful and look closely at what you are getting.

exactly what i needed. am using this to add charge protection for my rv solar. placing this between the battery and charge controller. the 8awg wire is legitimate. i need to connect to 10awg solar wire, so am using step down butt connectors to accomplish this (10-8 connector).

I purchased this item to complete the installation of a subwoofer and amplifier in my car. I needed to fuse the 8AWG cable I ran to the trunk as close to the battery as possible for safety, and this item seemed to fit the bill. It works fine, seems to be water resistant, and was easy to install. I used a little Permatex dielectric grease on the contacts to make fuse insertion easy and hopefully add some additional water resistance. My fuse holder rides on top of my car battery under the battery cover, so I am not worried about direct exposure to water. Time will tell if it can withstand general humidity, but it has worked great for several months with no signs of corrosion.

I had the same problem as reviewer V. Chan. The holder is way too tight. When I try to insert a maxi fuse, the prongs bend and break off. I went through 4 fuses before I got one in. Then I had to use a pliers to take it out. Don't buy, you can do better.

Needed a new fuse holder the old one was hard to find. Maxi fuses are very easy to find. Easy to install in the same spot. This holder was hard to find even though every parts store I went to had the fuses. Go figure.

These are ... yeah BIG fuse holders! It would be nice if they can with FUSES but I also ordered the 5 Maxi fuses and they arrived in the same package. Quick shipping and delivery from CA to VT in 4 days from ordering. Translucent red insulation with really only 11 inches of very flexible 8 AWG wire...heavy duty!

Well made and heavy duty but wire could be longer it is labeled 1 foot but it really is only 8 inches long.

The length of the wire is the only reason for a 4 star rating.

No included fuse you must purchase the fuse separately and this supplier does not have or list any.

Still a good product.

I purchased this fuse holder for a pv system, works great.! Pure copper and who cares if it's not water proof, I just put some dialectric grease where the fuse contacts are to keep moisture out, no brainer there.!!! I'll order more to connect my car amp.
