Pico Pica is one of those regional things. As someone who hails from Los Angeles, and has moved all over the country and now lives in Florida, I feel like there aren't nearly as many things in Florida that you can actually wear as a badge of honor. In LA, there are MANY things you can wear as a badge. Like seeing Heather Locklear buying her Tide at Gelson's. Or elmo being interrogated by police in the parking lot. Habanero martinis. Taco Trucks. Or how about El Pollo Loco. In-N-Out (what a hamburger's all about). The 94 earthquake that shook (haha) Angelenos to the core. Or, perhaps it's your HOA actively drawing away trashy reality show families, and you talking to friends and family about it like this is some common problem among HOA's everywhere. Knowing more about the OJ trial than most adults, as the frenzy was taking place a half a mile from your elementary school. American Pie being filmed at your summer camp. The list goes on. And then there's Pico Pica. The delicious, firey elixir that I can actually take with me wherever I go - aside from the SoCal area code that I refuse to give up.

Now I live in Florida. There is nothing here, except people who drive trucks and/or who fish and/or who proudly own guns. That's it. That's what people do here. I will recognize the location of every scene in Big Lebowski while the toothless Floridian next to me is talking about a filefish he caught 10 years ago. Chinese food? Mexican food? In California, it's wonderful. In Florida, forget it - you're basically looking at a plate of your future diarrhea.

But the one thing that makes my life better, is Pico Pica. I have to order it, as this boring state is full of people who would rather have bottles of vinegar with red dye in it, than actually have decent spicy sauce.

This is my favorite hot sauce in the WHOLE WORLD. I used to live in Arizona, which is where I first found out about Pico Pica. Coming to the east coast.... There really isn't anything that's even remotely equivalent. The best thing about Pico Pica is that it isn't just senselessly hot to show off how much you can withstand, it actually TASTES good. It's like.... a spicy enchilada sauce. Smoky, sweet, garlicy, with a really even and tolerable but in no way demure heat. The flavor in Pico Pica is so wonderful and deeply developed-there really is no sauce even remotely tasty. I am SO glad that it's available on Amazon because seriously, this is my #1 hot sauce. Yes, even more awesome than Sriracha but they both definitely have their places.

The best sauce period. I have eating this sauce since the 1960's. I have tried many, many hot sauces over the years and I have never found one to compare.

I recently moved to Missouri after living in CA, AZ and NV for most of my life and I have had to have friends ship some from CA.

It is great on eggs, tacos, tostadas, rellenos, tamales, steaks, chips. I use it when I make guacamole. I am a total fan .

Viva la salsa Pica Pica

Thank goodness I can order this online! I moved to Louisiana from Arizona last year, and they have no good hot sauce out here. I would have family ship it out to me, but I found it's cheaper to have it shipped through amazon.com, woohoo!

I love Cholula and it's still my #1 for most Mexican food, but I also very much enjoy the vinegar free Pico Pica.
I put hot sauce on a lot of stuff, but I never really got into the hot sauce on eggs thing, even with my beloved Cholula. Even the relatively small amount of vinegar in Cholula ruins the taste of eggs for me.
On a whim, I thought I would try some Pico Pica on some eggs...YUMM!!!
Pico Pica, like Cholula is a medium heat hot sauce. Some people love to brag about their favorite ego-boosting, mega-Scoville, mouth blistering, bitter, and awful tasting hot sauce. This is not for them....
If you, like me, enjoy hot sauce because you actually like the taste, you really need to give Pico Pica a try.
You can't buy this in a supermarket here in Florida, so Amazon is the place. Note that a single bottle is pretty pricey, but if you buy in quantity the price per ounce becomes downright reasonable.

The flavor is outstanding for that great hot sauce taste on any tacos, beef, eggs at breakfast, you name it. Enjoy!

I'm from Mexico City, but now have lived in Washington State for 7 years and as any good Mexican, have come to refuse to have "Mexican food" outside of Mexico, about 99% of Mexican restaurants north of the border are far from the real deal. However, a friend of a friend of mine brought this salsa over one day for a get-together, and even then I didn't care to try it (as I have my own supply of real Mexican goods that I bring back when I visit my hometown). But PicoPica got left behind and sat in my fridge for a couple months, one day I made some pasta and didn't have tomato sauce, ...in need of some flavorful substitute I thought ok, let's try this PicoPica (yes, we Mexicans put spice on everything, period). And to be honest, I was shocked at how close it tasted to reputable salsas found in Mexico. Ever since I have continued to use it and have bought some more when needed. This is definitely way more mexican than Cholula or Tapatio (those are just export salsas that we don't really care for in Mexico).
