Katherine was a wife and mother, but now her children are grown and her husband is now her ex. She decides (with the help of her friend)she needs some fun in her life. This leads to some very steamy scenes.
Pie For Breakfast is left open ended. I'm hoping Terri George will carry Katherine's story on, because I've only had a taste and I want more!
Five stars from me!
Being a huge fan of Terri, I couldn’t wait to read this book. I loved it so much, I read it twice!
I find, particularly with Terri’s short stories, that not only does the plot not map out as I expected, but there seems to be an underlying meaning for the reader to explore. Pie for Breakfast certainly makes me want to explore the story more, especially with its open ending. None of the characters stories are finished, which, normally would have me feeling unsatisfied and disgruntled. But instead, Terri George has done something incredibly special, she has left their stories with the reader. It’s almost as if she has given the reader the tools with which to mould the characters stories to their own vision.
Not only does Pie for Breakfast get you thinking so deeply, but it also offers some incredibly hot and steamy scenes…with a sexy added bonus in there!😉 Terri George definitely knows a thing or two about sexual chemistry.
Pie for Breakfast is not a story you want to miss! So what are you waiting for?! One click!
Katherine has lost touch with her sexuality, and her dreams, after her husband left her for a much younger woman. Her best friend gives her the number for a boutique hotel that caters to women who need some sexual healing. That one night is hot and intense and gives Katherine her confidence back.
While this story had some very erotic scenes, it was also satisfying on an emotional level. We see Katherine growing closer with her daughter and starting to sing again, something that always made her happy. We even see the hint of a new romance for Katherine.
Pie For Breakfast was well-written and the characters are appealing. While I enjoyed the steamy scenes, I was also left with a warm feeling at the end, satisfied that Katherine will be happy again. I recommend you read this sweet and sexy story.
This book does not have your typical heroine. This is about a woman who has life experience and is wondering if she will ever be desirable again. The character is relatable because you could see this happening to someone you know. And while this book does have some sexy scenes, it is really a story about love and how it can be found again. If you are looking for short steamy read with HEA and great plot, then this book is for you!
1) Katherine, the main character, is not the usual chick, young, perfect and sexy I've already seen in so many stories. She a mature woman, a wife (or ex-wife) and a mother. Having, I suppose, almost the same age as Katherine, I have felt instantly a deep connection with the character.
2) Katherine's night of passion really surprised me (in a very good way!). Terri George has created something hot, sexy, sensual and much more, I didn't expect (OMG, I wish I could be there, too!)
The story leaves open questions about Kathrine's life and her future. In a short story incompleteness is what leads the reader to be curious, to want more, and with Pie For Breakfast Terri George has succeeded greatly.
