Weak and Flat!

Not a big fan of this novel ...

It starts off pretty strong but then it takes a downward turn rather quickly. The writing was good, nothing spectacular but the characters were very one dimensional and the story itself fell flat and weak.

First of all, Kinsley's relationship with Rhett moved too fast way too soon. It wasn't realistic or romantic at all. This was insta-love at its weakest. Then you throw in the super hot older brothers best friend who all of a sudden decides he wants Kinsley and you have a very confused and indecisive story. It became repetitive and boring at one point to even continue to read. It became so cookie cutter and predictable. The situation towards the end however did take me by surprise but not in a good way. To add such a heavy plot device into a flat and weak story line was so tactless of the author. And then to sugar coat the situation and gloss it over made it worst.

I was not impressed with this novel.

This is a truly amazing story of young love. The plot twists and turns had you constantly guessing as to what might be coming next. Gia Riley's books never disappoint. Another 5-star read from Gia Riley! I would recommend this book as well as her others to all my friends!

Wow, just finished this story. How great this story was would be understated in words.
I haven't read a YA in quite some time and glad I saved it for this author.
Reading Kinsley and Rhett's story was truly inspiring.
Life isn't always a path that is easy, desirable, or full of compassion. This poor girl has been through it in her life. She has been bullied and just wants to blend in her senior year of high school.
Rhett the star football player knows the sun that shines out of this girl and has for years. He just needs to prove to her that her light shines brighter than she gives herself credit for.
Definitely took me by surprise the way the story plays out, but it is so real.
I loved it and hope there will be more with this story to read. I love each character in here and they all have very important roles from the overbearing siblings to the crazy best friends.
Highly recommend this read. I can even let me daughter read it and love it!

I loved this book. Kinsley has had it rough. Her mother died and her dad left but everyone has made fun of her for a while. Her senior year Rhett Taylor confesses he's liked her for awhile but her brother kept all the boys away. Will things fall into place for them or will someone ruin it?
