Others have noted that this module appears to be identical with another brand that is about $22 per panel more in price. I concur that they both seem to be coming off the same production line, somewhere in China. I'm not dissing Chinese goods as I'll take a listed Chinese module over an unlisted American made one. Not that I didn't try to find a listed American made module with similar specs, I did. Alas, the likes of Astro Power, Shell, Sharp and BP, to name a few, have pulled out of the States (or solar altogether). That having been said, one has to ponder how it is that one company markets a product with a part number of HQST-100D with the same specs as another company's product with a part number of RNG-100D for about $22 per module less, unless the second outfit is indeed re-branding this product. Indeed, both modules are listed by ETL, another clue as to the pedigree. By the way, both of these companies also sell poly-crystalline modules that ARE NOT listed, and therefore not Code-compliant.
As for the claimed peak efficiency of 22%, I calculate the efficiency to be at about 17%, but then again you may live at 14,000 feet with full sun and subzero temperatures and may get more. In reality, the efficiency is about the same as most other mono-crystalline modules, i.e. run-of-the-mill, non high-tech-super-boffo-dual-technology-blah-blah-blah, which is why they're inexpensive. The build quality is good, and things look to be in order. I'll find out after I install them in a few months when the snow thaws and the weather warms as to whether there are any other issues, but I'm not anticipating any.
