Well, he likes it, but not for the reason I purchased it! As soon as I put it down and said, "It's for you!" He settled in and decided it was a great place to nap. He doesn't get that I wanted him to scratch it. My guess is that he likes something easier to sink his claws into. The mat is good sized (cat is 18 lbs.), sturdy and the non-slip strips do the job. The enclosed catnip doesn't seem to have much fragrance--it warranted a sniff, but not much reaction. At the price it's worth a try, but I'm glad I didn't buy the three pack.

My boyfriend screwed the scratching post into the wall since we didn’t want it on the floor. We got this because our cats went through a 80$ tower in 6 months. The used to fight over it & aggressively scratch the tower after they fought lol. They haven’t used it yet but we’ll see how this one goes, it it works well buy the 3 pack.
edit: It’s probably been about a week & it’s still holding up extremely strong. especially with the cardboard into the wall. It did take them a day to realize how to use it or they even had one but it’s out of our way while still accessible to them. I also changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 due to the fact that it’s been a week, it holds cat nip well, & holds up super well screwed into a wall. 🤷🏼♀️
edit: got this june 7th it’s now August 1st & this is what the scratching post has come too lol

Neither of my cats scratches it (but I think it's because they already have a cat tower for that). One of them really likes sleeping and sitting on it, though.
