Pilates Complete for Everyone is a bargain: about four hours of Pilates instruction and practice, from beginning to advanced levels, more than 35 workouts all on one DVD. The workouts are divided first by level (basic, beginning, intermediate, challenging, advanced), then into individual 5- to 25-minute workout chunks so that you can fit your Pilates into the busiest day. The 10- to 20-minute introductory segments for each level have the most instruction. Certified Pilates instructor and former professional dancer Karen Garcia has an impressively lean, supple, and strong body--a testament to her Pilates practice. The instruction is done by voice-over; Garcia's moving body doesn't talk or smile. There are also options to use weights and the fitness circle. If you don't feel like using them, then you don't have to select those choices. If you want variety, you can add them.
The issues others raised about uninspiring music and voice overs do not bother me at all. If I was doing a 60 minute routine, perhaps that would become an issue. But for a max workout of 30 minutes, I don't see those items as a drawback.
My only critism would be that I wish they would spend more time (repetitions) on each exercise. But then the routines would be much longer.
Bottom line is that this DVD packs a great workout in a small amount of time, and you can select a variety of options each time you need a Pilates work out. Highly recommended.
I even took this with me on several business trips and did the routines in my hotel room (played it on my laptop). That was a HUGE plus for me. You don't need a lot of space.
The best part is that I now actually have something resembling abdominal muscles, which I considered a near-impossibility earlier in my life. I am slightly overweight and my tummy isn't flat - probably never will be - but I am developing that core strength that Pilates is famous for. My posture and flexibility are much improved, and I generally feel much better.
