I love this show and am so sad it was cancelled. It was always upbeat and the brother always was hilarious. I have not found a show that compares to it. It definitely was a change from the current drama filled shows that are on now.
This show is a lot of fun and it's great to have gay issues handled with class and humor on TV. Yes, it's sometimes a bit formulaic (hence the loss of one star), but that's also sort of what they're going for: gay is just part of the typical formula.
Counter to the television family where the children are smarter than their parents - every member of this household is at times relatable and flawed. I wouldn't prescribe anything depicted as edgy - there are attempts to awaken dialogue within the viewer - but I don't find it preachy or insensitive.
