I wanted something that would tell me how to make one of these quilts in different sizes, and what the yardage should be for the different sizes. The quilt sizes are for a "practice" wall hanging, baby/crib, twin, double, queen, and king. Each size has its own page with a diagram of the layout of the quilt, as well as a yardage chart. I also did not want to buy a special ruler. I just wanted to strip piece it. This book is perfect for that. The directions are easy to understand and have a diagram for each step of the way.
If you are, however, looking for a pretty book with lots of colorful quilts inside, this is not the book to buy. This is just a book with directions for making the simple pineapple block, none of the fancy variations. It is all black and white inside, so it is pretty much for someone who is serious about making the quilt and not just wanting to look at pictures of quilts. If you want a gallery of pineapple quilts, maybe pair this with another book with more pictures.
Hope this helps!
