About Pinewater Quilting
I made my first quilt while expecting my first baby back in the 60s. I been making and designing quilts and more since then. A quilt is made of three layers, a top...the pretty side, batting (filler/wadding) and a backing that are held together with stitching. Every quilt I sell is made from start to finish in my studio. I start with a sketch, pick the fabrics, cut the pieces, and sew the quilt top. Then I put it on the frame of my longarm quilting machine with the batting and backing to stitch/quilt it. The quilting process adds texture and makes it a quilt. The final step is finishing the edge with a double bias binding. Small pieces are finished in a week or so, larger more detailed pieces take months to finish. In addition to bed quilts I make home décor and seasonal items such as table runners, wall hangings and novelty pillowcases for kids of all ages.
Each item is designed, cut, pieced or appliqued in my studio. Every item is made using premium 100% cotton fabric. All the batting (filling/wadding) and threads are new and first quality. All of the quilting is accurately done using my longarm quilting machine.
