One bit of advice from a previous review that I read, which is a good idea, turn the bag inside out, so that the sewn seams are on the outside and the tight, closed seam is on the inside. That makes removing all the coffee grounds much easier. The same is true for the yogurt, so it doesn't get stuck in all the sewing on the seams.
For yogurt it washes completely clean. For the cold brew coffee, there is some staining, but using a baking soda solution removes most of the staining, if that is an issue for you. As there are a number of bags in the package, I have been using one for yogurt and another for the coffee, so the staining isn't an issue for me.
Overall I believe the bags are worth the price.
Two tips: First turn the bag inside out so that the sewed seams are to the outside. This will make cleaning a lot easier. Second, wet the bag with water. This will help in the draining.
Then drape this bag over a colander and place it over a suitable pot to catch the whey.
Pour your yogurt in and let it drain.
The 75 micron holes make draining yogurt easy and fool-proof. The whey comes out practically clear so there is no wasted yogurt. Draining yogurt about 11-12 hours makes for a nice consistency. I once accidentally left one batch draining for over 24 hours. I thought I would have turned my yogurt into cream cheese, but everything came out great.
When the drain time is over, just lift the full bag and dump it into a large bowel. The yogurt simply falls out. Keeping the seams on the outside prevents any thing sticking. A few whips with a whisk and the yogurt is done.
Cleaning these bags is a snap. The large size does make for a cumbersome clean up but it is really quite easy. Turn the bag inside out so that the seams are inside and the side that was touching the yogurt is on the outside. Simply rinse the bag with your hand inside. It really rinses out well. The yogurt left-overs really do slide off the bag material. Clean up takes about three minutes. Then just hang the bag up and it will dry quickly.
I was struggling with and ruined several yogurt batches until I tried this bag. Don't buy a smaller bag like the 12x12. It was much more cumbersome to use as it just barely held one gallon. This this larger one and you wont' have any worries about anything spilling.
Package came with two but honestly, I don't see this bag wearing out any time soon. Three batches of yogurt later and the bag does not have a blemish. .
Seller shipped fast and the bags arrived clean and undamaged.
I may not need to buy any replacements for a while, but if I do need a replacement, I will gladly order from the same supplier.
