it was time to replace my old maybelline eyelash curler. this thing is definitely a step up. i didnt realize how much i was actually pinching my eyelids with my crappy old curler, until i tried this for the first time. it's so comfortable to use!!! it doesn't tear eyelashes out, you can barely feel it when youre using it. definitely a great design. love that it's pink, love that it comes with replacement pads. i'm so glad i upgraded, id recommend one of these to all my girlfriends.
so its been a couple of months since i got this curler. the curler itself works just fine still, but i;m disappointed to report that the pads they come with tend to get damaged very quickly by the pressure the locking mechanism puts on the rubber pad itself. i already had one pad split in half on me, and i tried to use it anyway and it was a biggole mess. i wish this product came with MORE extra replacement pads, as i will probably go through the other two pretty fast since they get damaged like that and are unusable. if i can find more replacement pads for not too expensive, i will be happy, otherwise ill be disappointed that ill need to replace my curler again once i run out of these pads. bummer!
edit: so today i went to check the mail, and Crave Naturals has sent me some replacement pads for my curler for free. this makes me really really happy. Thank you, youre a good company. :) completely redeemed!!!!
This arrived on my doorstep about 15 minutes ago. I was excited to try this eyelash curler, but I wasn't holding my breath that it would be anything special. After all, a curler is a curler, right? They all pretty much look alike and do the same thing. Wrong. Nothing I have used before compares to this. I used to try and try and try to curl my tiny straight little eyelashes and they would just not curl. They wouldn't even bend. I usually just pinch the crap out of my eyelids. I've tried a lot of eyelash curlers, so I thought it was just me. I was wrong. This curled my eyelashes beautifully. And to my surprise, I actually do have eyelashes! Who knew?! I'm in love with the Whip Lash curler! Oh, and as a bonus, I did not pinch my eyelids!
I'm going to try to post before and after pics. Seeing is believing.
I never thought I could have such strong opinions an eye lash curler. This design is flawless, at least for me. The curve perfectly fits my eye so I can get super close to the lash line without ever pinching. It also feels super comfortable and sturdy in your hand, which is important when you're clamping pieces of metal together millimeters from your eye.
Like others, I wasn't pleased with the durability of the rubber lash pad. Before I say more, let me say that they now have NEW, UPGRADED BLACK LASH PADS. If you are using the pink ones and are unsatisfied they will send you some of the black ones for free. I could not be more happy with their customer service. I let them know I wasn't satisfied and within 24 hours they responded saying they had upgraded their lash pads based on customers' reviews and would send me some of the new refills immediately. They seem to truly care about customer satisfaction.
Before knowing this, I purchased another lash curler at a similar price point because I didn't want to deal with constantly replacing the Whiplash's pink lash pad. I bought the Eye & Mighty By Bella and Bear eye lash curler, and that one is pretty good, but I absolutely prefer Whiplash. The Eye & Mighty is much straighter than Whiplash, so my center lashes ended up curled close to the root, while my other lashes had a crimp halfway between the root and the tip. It also didn't have as nice of a grip as Whiplash...after using Whiplash's wide and sturdy handles any other curler feels flimsy and unstable. Again, you don't really want to worry about your grip slipping on a metal tool you're using on your eye.
I wanted to like this product so much. In fact, I must like it at least a little because it's been my eyelash curler for about 2 years. It actually is a great curler with one exception, and it's a BIG one: The pads just DO NOT STAY in the curler! It's been a frustrating experience. When it works, it works great. But at least 75% of the time I'll put it in place, be just about ready to squeeze, and the pad has popped right out and I have to start over. And usually it'll repeat the same process of popping out. So my eyelashes eventually get curled but it takes twice as long to complete the process. The story is the same for the original pads and replacement pads, it doesn't matter. Bonus points to the company for making pads easy and cost effective to replace, and very friendly and professional customer service. But I find myself shopping on Amazon right now for a new eyelash curler because I'm finally fed up with the frustrating experience of ill-fitting pads.
