I mean, Pink & Patent Leather is well written; the characters are developed beautifully; the plot is extraordinarily interesting...she kept my attention the entire time! And the ending had me wanting more!
I've never met anyone like Pink; a Christian, who believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that she's heard from God. Only what she's heard goes against the character of God so obtusely. However, Pink's emotions won't let her tap into to this very thing. Even when others that know Christ as well as she does try to tell her, she's still unmoved. She dang near loses everything before she even considers what's true in spite of how she feels. Her job, family, friends...she risks it all only for the truth to finally be revealed...first in the physical then in the spiritual.
An amazing story! A super duper account of the battle between emotion and Spirit. I can't wait to read what's next!
Kudos Candy Jackson! Kudos! You've done a terrific job!
Ms. Jackson did a wonderful job sharing Pink’s story. So often we hear a message but somehow we get it wrong. Some of us know the word but are we grounded in it or the flesh? I enjoyed Xavier he was a man of God grounded in the word. The way God used him in this story almost brought tears to this readers eyes.
So many topics for book clubs to discuss like, hearing the voice of God, friendships, love, adultery, Christians and PK’s (preacher kids) but even more lessons for readers to learn which reminds me of a saying “we make plans, God laughs and I am sure He had a hysterical moments with Sister Pink.
I will say this Candy Jackson wrote the story in a way that I didn't want to put it down because I just had to see how it all ended. She also made steady progress through the story. She didn't drag it out. These are traits I look for in a book. With this being said, I will read future books written by Candy Jackson.
