She wasn't at all taken with this cookbook, probably still a bit young. So, after first checking others in the series out from our local library, we returned the pony version and bought the princess and tea party versions instead.
When I compared the recipes side by side with the Pink Princess cookbook Pink Princess Cookbook and the Tea Party cookbook Pink Princess Tea Parties (Spiral-bound) , they didn't look as yummy, and in some cases were not as healthy. In the other two cookbooks, at least a few of the recipes are for non-dessert items. The recipes in the pony cookbook were higher in fat, a little too simplified (just mix marshmallow whip and peanut butter and use it as a dip for fruit or cookies- yum! NOT!), and I hate to say it since I love this series, but it seemed like the author was running out of princessy recipe ideas.
This is an awesome series for moms or grandmoms who love to bake with the special little girls in their lives. However, my advice is to check several of these from the series out of the library before you decide which one is best for your little princess!
