i originally purchased the peerless universal rotation wall or ceiling mount for speakers up to 2lbs. i bought two to hang the paradigm center channel speakers but the mounts were a ball and screw and my center speaker started sagging. we used metal anchor screw and that was a bad idea. my paradigm speakers are 29lbs alone. i went back to the drawing board and picked up these pinpoint am15 center channel speaker mount. i dont know why everything is whining about. you need to have wood behind the drywall to have very good support. i had to cut the drywall and place a 2x4 inside it to support the weight. i highly recommend theses L mounts, they look very clean. i've attached pics of my center channel mount

I did not buy these, but wanted to share what I did do.

Although I didn't buy these, because of the high price, they gave me the idea to use Menard's "Large Designer Shelf Bracket Black" (search exactly that at the Menard's website), which look and work just as well (or better after reading some of these reviews) for a fraction of the cost. I flipped them upside down, mounted them under my TV and presto! They almost disappear (just as these would) which is what I like, a clean look.

Total Price: ~7 dollars + ~3 dollars in hardware = ~10 dollars

My speaker is ~18" wide ~8.5" deep ~7" high and weighs ~13.5lb

I purchased these mounts (comes as a pair) to wall mount my Yamaha YSP-2200 since the sound bar/projector didn't have any kind of wall mount and was not designed to be wall mounted. These brackets were the best option other than to mount a shelf. Installation was easy enough, just make sure the mounts are level and screw them in. For those that are thinking of wall mounting these into drywall only...DON'T! These brackets are heavy and will simply rip from the drywall even if you use the included anchors. I mounted these brackets into wall studs and felt the screws were too short (probably only about 1/4"-1/2" goes into the stud and the rest into drywall). These mounts are rated to hold up to 33lbs. My sound projector only weighs 13 lbs, so I think the speaker mounts will be able to hold it without any issues. The included rubber pads (6 included) are a good addition and help the speaker from sliding around. I did not need to extended the speaker mounts so I can't comment on how they are when they are fully extended.

I bought 2 sets of these to mount a 28 pound center channel speaker along with a wooden shelf to hold the speaker. I figured with 4 individual brackets it would be plenty sturdy. Boy was I wrong! After getting the brackets mounted directly to wall studs and laying the wooden shelf (14 pounds) on the brackets, the darn things were already bending downward. I hadn't even put the speaker on them yet. This meant that each bracket couldn't even handle a load of 3.5 pounds. No way the speaker will go up. After mulling this over a day or so, I figured the problem was due to the extension feature of the bracket - You can extend the brackets out quite a bit. It is when they are fully extended that they get really flimsy. I had them fully extended but I needed them that way support the wide shelf as I wanted to get the center speaker as close to the front of the TV as possible. These brackets are rated at full extension but I don't believe it - If I had added the speaker, it would have collapsed onto the floor - No question. Even without the shelf. In fact, I think the 14 pound shelf would have eventually come down.

My solution: I kept the brackets but reinforced them by adding support struts underneath. I kept the 4 brackets on the wall in the extended position and added 2 struts that I fabricated in my garage. The struts attach to the bottom of the wood shelf towards the front of the shelf, that then angle down and back to attach directly to the wall studs. I used 3 foot long pieces of 3/4" aluminum U channel that I bought from Home Depot and spent 1 hour cutting, drilling, fabricating and painting black. This gives the shelf the outboard support that the brackets themselves were not capable of providing.

For the price, these wall mount brackets are a good choice for mounting a big and heavy center channel speaker. I recommend you screw them into wall studs for best results. The problem with the set of brackets I received is that when the brackets are extended all the way out, they are no longer level, they twisted a bit which made the speaker sit crooked on them. By using the rubber pieces included in the kit, I was able to level the speaker out enough so that it was not noticeable. So the quality has room for improvement.

I'll admit, I was bit leery on purchasing these mounts for my center channel speaker in my theater room. After scouring the interwebs for a mount that would work for my larger Polk center channel, and coming up short for my specific application, I revisited this mount idea.

I opened the box and inspected the quality. They appeared to be heavier duty. Knowing that I'd need to adjust the bottom portion out due to the longer depth of my center channel, I released the tension on the allen head screw and slid them out, then tightened the set screw. This is where my rating goes from 5 to 4. At the fullest extension, the arms slightly bend down due to the nature of the tightening screw. This wouldn't be a bad thing as I was mounting my speaker high. The included stick on rubber pegs/cushions also helped with this, as well as keeping the wood finish on my speaker from getting scratch.

After finding out that I could not tie into a stud (I wasn't about to mouth off center), and knowing how heavy my center channel was, I grabbed my container of Toggler SnapSkru self-drilling drywall anchors (rated to hold quite a bit of weight per screw). Measured, leveled, installed the 4 snap-skru devices, and affixed the mounts to the wall. I affixed the stick on rubber cushions and placed my center channel on the mount. I have yet to see any flex or bending in the arms (nor any of the Snap-Skru's pulling from the drywall/sheetrock if anyone is looking to use a similar mounting hardware).

Only thing that'd make this mount better: tighter fitting slide adjustment with the set screw on the side. Or, possibly a version that has 3 mounts in a box for those in my predicament, that would like to tie into a stud. Just my opinions.
