The frame is sturdy heavy duty, and should do what I need to get done. Likely the original designer was a logical person, of sound mind. It's a very good design, and had all the hardware worked I would be recommending it highly.
The problem is that once again some pencil pushing penny pincher desk jockey must have caught a deal on saving a few cents on the bolts and nuts and screws. As usual he probably knows little more than the righty lefty thumb rule when it comes to hardware. As a result I have to pretty much replace all of it, save the main bolt which I pray I can use as the frame is meant to use it specifically. The screw for walls stripped so easy I wondered if they were only slightly sturdier then lead. I really should know by now to just use my own hardware only for wall screws as all kits like these seem to find the most utterly pathetic hardware available. However more problematic is that for it to swivel correctly it must have bolt slide through and the nut under it to a perfect tension in order to stay and place and still slide. To say it's off is an understatement. It's not even close to getting the nut where it needs to be, and though it does have a washer, it could have 3 additional washers there I am not sure it would make up the difference. All they would have had to do is put ONE together with this hardware at factory to realize it would not work. Either the bolt is too long, or the nut is wrong.Read more ›
These mounts look great and are rock solid. The clamp is strong enough to hold my surrounds without any screws. I was nervous about my Front Right and Left, and screwed those in. These look great and work great. I'd recommend to anyone doing a wall mounted speaker setup.
Overall, wonderful way to support my two speakers, very solid. My speakers weigh probably about 8-10 lbs. The tension system to hold the speaker is awesome, didn't need to screw into my speakers. The minor complaints kept this from being a 5 out of 5 rating. Sorry, I'm picky.
First, the parts that make the bracket that attach to the speaker are spot welded together. No problem except none of the parts were on plane with each other, so it was difficult to get all of the bracket surfaces to contact the speaker cabinet. The speaker mounting screws, called safety screws, are probably working harder to keep the bracket from springing away from the speaker cabinet than keeping the speaker from sliding off the mounting plate. Deduct 1 star for welded parts held together with a vice grip.
Second, for $58 one would think that the manufacturer could supply sufficient quality hardware out of the box to get the job done. Apparently not. No anchors were supplied for brick or drywall mounting. The wall screws are poor quality and probably the cheapest available from China. Be sure to drill pilot holes or you will quickly strip the screws. My box was shorted 5 safety screws so I had to make a trip to a hardware store before I could finish the job. Black machine screws are not common so go to a store that specializes in hard to find and over priced hardware. Deduct another star.
Due to the size I cannot really adjust the speakers up or down (the pivot) due to the overhang but they are absolutely solid. I placed them in my basement at head level (the basement is 7 feet high ceilings so the speaker is at forehead level, in which I have hit it so hard by accident that I nearly blacked out. I immediately fell to the floor and saw stars, the speaker mount did not move... Hence me going to the floor. After that incident it just made me more confident that the speaker mount will not fail

These things are beastly. I have used them in two locations now, once with the mounts mounted attached vertically (in to a stud) and with the speakers vertical as well, and once... Read morePublished 3 months ago by MostlyHarmless
These are great stands. They're sturdy (even on carpet) and hold the speakers well. They look good with most decor and overall I wouldn't be happier.Published 8 months ago by Josh
These mounts are great! They are holding Mission MX2 speakers that weigh about 17 lbs but are at the upper limit of the width and length needed to hold them in place. Read morePublished 10 months ago by J. Ponciano
