I usually don't give reviews, but I felt that I had to give a warning to anyone thinking of buying this item. This thing sheds like crazy. I have only had it for a couple of weeks & I am finding lint on everything. It feels very soft on both sides & initially I thought it was a good buy. The velvet side doesn't appear to have a problem with shedding. The other side where the fibers are longer is just horrible. I am afraid to even wash this thing. Hopefully after washing it a few times the lint & fuzz problem goes away. I have a feeling this will not be the case. I put trust in this Amazon brand "Pinzon". I must say I am left feeling very disappointed.

I've had soft blankets similar to this one before, the ones with the sherpa fuzz on the other side, but those constantly pile and no longer feel soft on the white side. So I wanted a blanket that would stay consistently soft. This arrived yesterday and immediately in pulling it out of the bag, this feels EVEN SOFTER than those blankets. How is that possible? It feels amazing and I feel like I want to wear it around like a snuggie or something. I actually have it on me right now. My cat approves too, he keeps wanting to sit and roll around on it as well.
I gave it an initial washing following the tag's instructions: cold water and low heat for drying. There was no fuzz in the lint catcher other than the expected amount of dust. I think if you just avoid heat, this blanket will prevent from shedding as other reviewers noted. If it still starts to shed, I'll be back to update my review. For now, I'm very happy with this blanket!
Update 1/4/16: I have laundered this blanket many times now. No issues with using warm and hot water and drying with heat either. However, I did make a mistake that ruined this blanket - I have to take my laundry to a public laundromat because we travel in an RV. I tossed in my blanket and left the professional dryer on high heat. There are now spots on the blanket where it got so hot that the fabric melted and fused in a scratchy thin layer like plastic. It happened to my sherpa blanket too (the cheap kinds you get at Walmart) so I now know better to never leave these blankets in the heavy duty dryers on high heat. Those things are way too hot. So sad for my blanket, guess I will just need to get a second!

This blanket is very soft, but I think it loses about a quarter of its mass every time I wash and dry it. I spend about 30 minutes removing large pills of material that accumulate on the outside of the blanket before it's usable, and it still leaves a large deposit on the lint filter after several washes. Eventually I think I will open my dryer and it will just be gone.

The blanket left little puffs of fuzz on the bed when I first unboxed it.
I washed it in cold water and dried it on low for an hour (it was dry after 15 minutes).
I expected a lot of lint in the lint basket, but had less than the normal amount when I dry a normal load of clothes.
Maybe the cold water helped with the lint problem.?
Bottom line...no lint on the bed after washing.
The size is almost too big for a 'full' bed.
The blanket is ridiculously soft.
No complaints.

When I first opened the package I felt the softest blanket I had ever felt. I thought I made a great purchase. After using for a while the blanket practically started falling apart one lint ball at a time. I have tried everything to prevent the lint balls from accumulating but finally had to throw the blanket away. It was leaving SO much lint in my bed and the carpet in my bedroom I just couldn't take it anymore. I read positive reviews for this item so maybe I just got a defective one I'm not sure. I do know that I am not confident enough in the product to try giving it a second chance.

Do you like lint? Having to remove dark balls of polyester material off of everything this blanket comes in contact with - be it humans, your dog or your bed sheets? If so then this is for you! I tried washing it several times according to the instructions in the hope this was just surface fuzz that would go away but no such luck - so after tiring of de-fuzzing my bed I gave the blanket to the dog. He's a black lab so he doesn't mind the lint so much. If you are a black lab you may enjoy it too.

Not even going to lie, this has to be one of the softest and fuzziest blankets or anything really, that I've ever come across. And this is coming from someone who's mom and every sibling has always had at least 4 fuzzy blankets each xD It's just so soft. I'll literally just roll myself up in it because it's so soft and comfortable. It's great at keeping me warm. But, even when it's not cold, I'll lay in bed just to roll around and feel this blanket. I know weird, but it's just so soft <3 It's also very large, so it definitely can fit multiple people in it, but may be a bit big for children. Even then though you can always cut it up and resew it to make smaller blankets, bc the quality of it is great. I haven't washed it yet, so there's no telling how it'll be after that, but I can always update later if needed. Buy it. Just DO IT. I promise you won't regret it ><

I placed this red blanket into a washing machine filled with my other clothes, and all of my other clothes became red. Then, I thought I'll just use it as a blanket on top of my other blanket, and my other blanket turned red. The fur comes off and the red color gets on everything it touches. I do not recommend it unless you don't mind that. It is indeed a very soft and comfortable blanket though.

I bought one of these for myself and ended up liking it so much, I bought one in every color. I bought a couple for my mother. She absolutely loved hers as did everyone in the family. My brother liked it so much that he took one of mom's and uses it in his room now.
THEN my aunt came over to mom's and she loved it, too, so I bought her one and gave it to her for Christmas last year and she was so happy to get it. She lives in a little cabin in the backwoods and she commented on how warm they keep her. I bought her an electric blanket to go with the plush blanket but she told me that the plush blanket kept her so warm, she didn't need the electric one. I returned the electric one and bought her something else for her cabin instead.
Since my family fights over who gets to use them, I bought a couple more to give them this year. These are just perfect to give as gifts. They have a nice thickness to them yet are lightweight. If you're worried that they will be cheap and thin because the price is so reasonable, I can assure you that they are very nice quality. I can also confirm that they hold up well through washing and drying.
So, these are just perfect. I even bought a twin size for my chihuahuas for their pet bed. They cuddle up in it and stay blissfully happy. You can't go wrong with these.
