This is a great product but I must have gotten a few bad units in the mail. Had to return several times nut for all those who were really interested in buying this unit, I totally agree with you but you shouldn't buy it just YET.
I'm not only a DJ but an IT savvy person and I just thought people didn't know how to properly setup the software, install drivers and update the firmware so I decided to buy it and formulate my own opinion off of it. At first I thought everything was running perfect. Had some really small problems; nothing too big. For that the Pioneer DJ forums were of great help in the beginning but there are some serious little technical glitches in the Rekordbox DJ software right now that NEED to be worked out before anyone seriously uses this unit. That is, I started experiencing a problem where the audio would play and then just stop. The waveform of the currently playing track would just randomly disappear at one beginning point and end-point and when it reached the point where there was no more waveform, the audio and whole track would just stop and you could only fix it by reloading the track into the current deck it was loaded into.
As a mobile DJ with a lot of gigs, this is not something I'll be relying on for my gigs. Just get the DDJ-SZ instead, save a few pennies and get a better peace of mind that Serato will be much more reliable as it has been around for a lot longer. Sorry Pioneer DJ, but your DJ software just isn't there yet but when it is, you offer a new level of laptop deejaying that will for sure take over Serato, Traktor & Virtual DJ combined!
