Perfect studio sound
The HRM-7 studio headphones are precision designed to deliver a clean, neutral sound to dance music producers. The fully enclosed design features dual airflow chambers and a damping structure to enhance the bass response and reduce resonance for accurate monitoring. And, thanks to the headband's freely adjustable headband and flexible, ergonomic design, you won't even notice wearing them, even during long recording sessions.
Dual air chambers in the housings improve airflow to deliver an improved bass response, while a 3-layer damping structure eliminates unwanted resonance for cleaner low to mid frequencies.
Studio Sound Quality
The unique 40 mm HD driver units faithfully reproduce frequencies of up to 40 kHz to guarantee a crystal clear, high-res sound.
Fully Enclosed Pads
The headphones' housings feature a large space around the ear for a wider sound stage and acoustic separation. The fully enclosed design improves sound insulation and reduces ambient noise.
The large ear pads are made with a hybrid memory foam and covered with soft velour fabric – providing a snug fit and ensuring enough airflow for accurate monitoring. The freely adjustable headband and flexible, ergonomic design on the ear pads mean you can find the best size and angle to suit you, ensuring comfort over long sessions in the studio.

In the end maybe i was confused on what i was buying but i tried everything from other peoples tracks to movies and nothing sounded Great. I feel if they fit tighter and more to the ear it would have sounded a little better but all in all they need to go back to the drawing board.
Bass: Very tight, dense, detailed and decently fast. Not for bassheads because its a bit flat but still deep and present.
Mids: Very balanced and clear. Not thick but still present and non-recessed. This is a transparent headphone make no mistake.
Highs: A little sharp, not splashy, boosted, somewhat bright but crisp. Sibilants will most definitely be revealed.
Stereo feild: larger than probably any closed back under 199( haven't heard the Akg k553). Images are very easy to locate in thier space. The sound feild isnt just wide but also tall and round.
Detail retrieval: Great! Way above par for the price.
If mixing etc, be careful not to under compensate for the highs and dont mix too much lower mids. On other gear it will translate to an overly dark and dull sound. The bright sound may make you turn down the upper registers too much. Overall its a nuetral headphone that is a bit bright but decently balanced without odd peaks in the treble. Its not metallic or strident but realistic and refined.
I think it cant be beat at its price but this is NOT an easy listening headphone.
This headphone came with two cables with 3.5 mm stereo audio connectors at each end. One cable is spring formed (curly) so that it can extend over a longer distance, the other is straight and over 9 ft long. There is an 1/4 inch stereo audio adapter that screws onto 3.5mm connector at far end of either cable so you can connect to 1/4 inch stereo audio sockets (e.g a Stereo Receiver) . The other end of the cable has a locking mechanism, consisting of two short pins (at right angle to the connector plug) is unusual and only mates properly with this particular headphone. To lock the connector you simply turn the connector and it locks into place so it won't inadvertently pull loose if you pull on the cable.
The headphone is very comfortable to wear and the ear cushions are made not of leather or cheap plastic, but some sort of cloth material. The leather and plastic, has in my experience, crumbled over time.
The sound quality is excellent. Don't forget that headphones need to "break in". This means that when brand new, they need to be used before they acquire their full sonic potential. You could simply plug them in overnight for a few days to "season" them.
They are comfortable to wear with band that stretches along the head, separate to the frame that supports the earphones. This probably also helps with the sound quality and low fatigue.
I had the same monitoring headphones for some time and came to realise that they were affecting my musical quality and output. They were undeniably a clean sound and you could hear all the instruments, but they didn't have enough punch, presence or excitement in the sound. These new Pioneers have this missing punch. The sound is clear and detailed but you can feel the energy in the music. Instead of getting tired and fatigued with the sound, you are enjoying the sounds you are making. They have definitely helped me and I would recommend to anybody needing clear but punchy and engaging studio monitoring headphones. My style is house and techno so I can say they work well for that, other styles may want to try out first.
