1- Perfect Size,
2- Excellent sound quality,
2- Light wait,
3- Good quality finished,
These are pretty mid-bass-forward headphones. The intro toms from Van Halen’s “Everybody Wants Some,” for example sound fantastic, but when there’s a lot going on these get a little muddy. That’s pretty normal for this type of sound profile and a lot of people like that mid-bass push, so if that’s you then fantastic.
Stupid proprietary cord (skip this part if the removable cord doesn’t matter to you)
I knew these had a removable cord (I wouldn’t have gotten them otherwise) so I was profoundly disappointed (pissed actually) to discover that the designers have taken a page from the Bose book of customer non-service and have used not just an odd sized TRRS connection, but a proprietary one with an integrated twist-lock as well. This is a total deal breaker for me. While it’s possible that the designer, manufacturer, or distributor might sell me a passable cord, I’ve got some that I like and I just don’t like these enough otherwise to bother figuring out how to hack this awful design mistake.
You get a TRRS cord for some reason even though there are no controls on the headset, which is weird but really doesn’t matter. The cord itself is the rubbery type and has a coiled section in the middle which is a nice compromise between too short and tangling yourself up in a long cord. The console end of the cord is a button (90 degree) style but it sticks up quite a bit and will really leap off of your console with an adapter attached if you have a quarter-inch plug hole like mine vs the 1/8” end supplied. The button end of the cord is threaded to accept a threaded 1/8” to 1/4” adapter, but the adapter was intentionally or mistakenly left out of the box.
For DJ and even one-handed studio work, the ergonomics are really well thought out. The speaker housings have some knurling just outboard of the ear ups that make these very easy to hold onto and grip, and the wired looking indent in the band just above the driver makes a great finger rest and keeps the rest of the set from flopping around. There is also a little bit of knurling on either side of the logo that probably helps a little.
Speaker housing articulation is normal for DJ headphones with the added triple detent when folding the earcups up into the band. This is a nice touch and helps keep one side tucked up and out of the way. The articulation joints are all plastic, silent, and burley looking. I wouldn’t sit on them but they’re not just going to break either.
The head band and earcups are pleather, nicely padded, and comfortable enough for long term use.
Solid earphones for the price, if you like strong bass.
Claims a Frequency Range 5 - 30000 Hz but humans with good hearing can only hear from 20-20,000 Hz, so this is not actually relevant.
Good audio, except for bass is boosted a bit much for my taste. I always listen to a piece with a glass harmonica in it to test, it has a high warbling sound that a lot of headphones cannot reproduce. These can, but they struggle, the highs lack the brilliance I would like. But to be fair, these are DJ headphones, and I doubt glass harmonicas show up much when DJing. However, the 40mm driver cannot deliver the bass directly that a 50mm headset can in the larger size so they seem to have boosted it. Surprisingly good for the size but the boosting can make some tracks sound strange, highs especially here. Fine for rock music but not so great for classical or jazz.
Claimed 30 hour battery life. That must be at low volume because at medium volume I got an average of 21 hours over three trials (checking each half hour).
Really nice cable for wired use.
Good build and sound for the price.
If you want you can buy other colored earpads to mix it up. Does cost 30 bucks.
Micro USB port rather than USB C
No carry case.
No quarter inch headphone jack, strange for DJ headphones. You will need an adapter.
Does not work well for phone calls. Person on other side said I sound like I am in a well.
