USB Input / SD Memory Card Slot
Connect USB thumb drives or other devices and enjoy playback of your digital audio and video files. Ditto for SD memory cards. This makes it a breeze to quickly grab some media from your computer before a big road trip, and enjoy hours of entertainment on the road.
iPod Direct Control (CD-IU50V required)

Simple Search for iPod lets you quickly search your iPod/iPhone with alphabetical search by Song, Artist, Album or Genre categories.
MP3/WMA/AAC Playback
Play back three of the most popular digital audio formats: MP3, WMA, and AAC. The MVH-8200's screen displays track info, and makes navigating directories/folders a breeze.

Connect, Tag, and Download
Have you ever heard a great song on the radio, but couldn't remember what it was called or who sang it when you went to go look for it later? Now you don't have to worry about missing out on great music. iTunes Tagging gives you the power to "tag" all of your favorite songs without having to scramble for a piece of scrap paper in the car, then later preview or purchase music at iTunes Music Store. Works with stations transmitting RDS data.
Bring Your Music to Life with Advanced Sound Retriever
This year you can hear the detail, warmth, and clarity the way the artist intended it, from all of the highly compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files playing on your CD player. By restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, we can make your music sound close to CD quality.
Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner
Pioneer's legendary Supertuner IIID combines the best of digital and analog tuner technologies to reduce distortion to bring you exceptional FM and AM performance. If you live in an area where reception is weak, you'll hear a big improvement in signal strength. And when you're near tall buildings, Supertuner IIID reduces the effect of multi-path noise, which occurs when the signal is reflecting off of the buildings.
Always have your favorite stations at hand with 18 FM and 6 AM user presets. And when you're somewhere new, let the tuner do the work for you by activating the Best Stations Memory (BSM) function. The tuner will seek out the 6 strongest stations in the area and set them into the tuner presets.
MOSFET 50W x4 Amplifier for the Power Hungry
Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, delivering power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. And that doesn't just mean a boost in volume: it means that your music will be cleaner at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. Clean, efficient power that will rock your vehicle.
For those who'd like a bit more power, three 4V RCA preamp outputs are also included for system expansion (front/rear/sub).

I won't say too much about this head unit 'cause I've always liked the performance and high quality of Pioneer products... but:
If you're looking for a head unit that looks nice, buy this, but if you're looking for a good performance unit, juts look for another and don't waste your time and money on this, the reasons:
1.- This unit is incredibly slow reading media sources, it takes more than one minute to read flash memories greater than 4GB and even more time (beyond 90 seconds) if you're thinking about using a hard disk drive instead of flash memories. This waiting time happens 'always' no matter if you're turning on the unit or if you've just moved accross other media sources such as SD, Radio or if you've received a phone call. So be ready to wait, wait & keep waiting...
2.- The SD is amazingly limited to a 2GB size, who can be limited to a 2GB media size nowadays??? I can imagine one answer: someone who doesn't use it.
3.- The remote control can't access all the menu options, so be ready to set the unit up directly by using its rotary button, no matter if you are carryng a hand remote control (even if it's the same that came whit the unit) or a steering wheel remote control. Remote controls work only for putting up & down the volume, changing tracks and starting the menu options, but they can access all menu options.
4.- The bluetooth performance is good when it comes to placing and receiving calls, but don't even think that you will be able to access or play the media that you're carrying in your mobile phone, it just doesn't do it.
5.- For some weird reason, Amazon.com says in its page that this unit has "Intuitive touchscreen controls" which gives the idea that this unit has a touchscreen display, but it just doesn't have it.
Now that I already have this unit, I'm just "hopping" for Pioneer to develope a firmware upgrade that helps to improve this bugs (or at least some of them), but they say that by now there's no any available; and as soon as possible I would get rid of it somehow.
I also got a 32GB sdcard (class 10) to store music. During start up, it takes a while for the deck to detect all the files before it's ready to play. Expect to wait a few minutes if you have a lot of files on the sdcard. 4-8GB of files is far more tolerable to wait for (just few seconds).
Other than that, it's still a great deck.
I did later purchase an Installernet card for installation but will never do that again as their customer service is terrible, unhelpful rude agents...I spoke with 2 difffernet people and they were both the same.

Now the things I don't like:
No rear usb! Not sure what pioneer was thinking there. They build an ultra clean looking HU and expect you to clutter it up with an ugly usb cable sticking out the front.
No audio over Bluetooth! Dropped the ball again. If your only going to give us 1 usb out the front for the love of god give us audio over Bluetooth!!!
The Remote is USELESS!!!! You cannot navigate the menu with the remote. Why include one if it only does volume and next song. Utter crap!!
Overall I do like this HU quite a bit and it gets alot of compliments. I just wish pioneer would have included the basic things. I mean jeez. My $100 JVC HU in my commuter car has rear usb and audio over Bluetooth with full iphone control. Also has voice dialing. I should just do more research next time.
If you don't mind the things I don't like than this is an excellent HU and I would highly recommend it.
