Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

The Bad - ....Assuming you can hear the things. These are the first headphones I've ever had where they were TOO loose. I literally had to hold them against my head for the muffs to seal around my ears. Also, even with the volumes on both WMP, and my system cranked to full I could barely hear the Mass Effect 3 final space battle, which if you've ever heard it is LOUD. Also, the freq response didn't seem to be as good as advertised as tested by listening to bass test vids on youtube and several Dubstep/Rasta songs. Lastly, the earpads. They're tiny and while they are felt covered, there's nothing to them to provide much padding or ability to seal against the sides of your head.
Final verdict? 1 thumb down. It might've been a quality control issue or damage during shipping, but these things did NOT live up to the hype at all. I'm not going to ship them back for a refund however because they do work (Sort of) and I have bigger problems to deal with atm.
Update
Plugging them directly into my computer was fail, but they work perfectly with my tablet (A gen 1 Xoom) so I tried connecting them to a Bluetooth Reciever and presto, problem solved (They're still quiet but far more audible) and now they're wireless (Sort of)
The other problems still stand though
If, as one other product review stated these need to be 'burned ' in a little while (i.e., used for about a week or so), then It can only get better! I am not audiophile, but I haven't heard headphone sound quality like this since I listened to a Bose headphone set...some 39 YEARS AGO...
Needless to say, the headphones I last used cost almost the same as these and never delivered this kind of quality.
Also I have read a review that stated they have had this same headphone set, for over 2 years (with one a minor issue with the elastic stretch having worsened, and they just modified it). Mine lasted a little over a year, and they hurt my ears after 15 minutes (which I just suffered for hours, unnecessarily, apparently).
I just never thought I could find any other headphones that were as comfortable as these, without having to spend at least $100.
Sound range is excellent...
PROS:
CRISP.CRYSTAL CLEAR UPPER RANGE...NO DISTORTION DETECTABLE (ON JUST ABOVE MID-VOLUME).
BASE RANGE IS VERY GOOD...NOT OVERPOWERING (AS MANY HEADSETS CAN BE) AND ALTHOUGH I WOULD LIKE THERRE TO BE JUST A TEENSY BIT STRONGER BASE, THIS IS QUITE ACCEPTABLE. (I suggest you use the Base enhancement on the iTunes equalizer if you want to increase it).
WONDERFUL CONCERT SONG PLAYBACK...YOU ARE THERE!!!
IT COMES WITH A VERY ROOMY CLOTH BAG WITH DRAWSTRING.
IT HAS A THICK CLOTH COVERED CORD (less likely to be damaged by accidental pulling or stretching or distortion, or wire fracturing).
IT HAS 2 PLUGS...ONE ON THE CORD ITSELF (which fits into the computer headset outlet), WITH A MODIFIED LARGER PLUG TO USE ON TVS OR STEREO, OR HOME THEATERS THAT ATTACHES TO THE PLUG ON THE CORD.
COMFORTABLE OVER-SIZED EAR PADS.
ELASTIC SELF-ADJUSTING HEAD BAND.
STURDY PLASTIC COATED METAL DUAL 'OVER-STRUCTURE' TO SUPPORT THE EARPHONES.
6 METER LONG CORD, WITH A SEPARATE VELCRO STRAP TO ADJUST LENGTH.
* * * * *I GIVE THIS HEADSET A '5' STAR RATING BECAUSE OF ALL THIS, AND IN SPITE OF THE FOLLOWING:
CONS:
SELF-ADJUSTING HEAD BAND IS TOO LOOSE (For my head which is a 61/8 at size)...AND CANNOT BE MANUALLY ADJUSTED ANY SMALLER OR LARGER THAN IT THEY COMES! (I plan to superglue the elastic stretch band at the junction to the leather head band itself, as I have determined that this will 'set' it to the perfect position for me personally)...
AND SO A WORD OF ADVICE...you might find that this elastic is a little TOO stretchy, even for a person with a larger head. (This headphone set is almost 3 years old, NEW AND OUT OF THE SEALED PLASTIC CONTAINER, from the manufacturer. AND BECAUSE OF THIS...
SOME FOLKS MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO APPRECIATE THE OVERSIZED EAR PADS AND HEADPHONES, unless some
minor MODIFICATION (Unfortunately the manufacturer WILL NOT guarantee any permanent modifications) OR ADJUSTMENT (Which I recommend instead of the former) IS DONE. (At this point in my life, this is not a major issue for me, but it might be for you). BECAUSE...
THE HEAD BAND IS MADE OF SOFT, AND RATHER SLIPPERY-SMOOTH LEATHER. IT MIGHT HELP TO UTILIZE A FOLDED OVER OR ROLLED UP WOOL CAP LENGTHWISE, UNDERNEATH THE HEADBAND TO HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. (OR PERHAPS GLUE OR SEW ON A PIECE OF CLOTH FABRIC THAT HAS BETTER TRACTION ON ONE'S HAIR).
THERE IS A SLIGHT definitely a audible 'HISS' IN THE BACKGROUND WHEN THERE IS NO MUSIC PLAYING I HAVE NOT HEARD ON ANY OFTHE MANY HEADPHONES I HAVE USED BEFORE...even the lesser quality ones. (I suggest you adjust the 'fade out' controls on your Mac or PC to meld into the next when you are listening to multiple songs as compensation). AND LAST...
DEPENDING HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS TO YOU, THE HEADPHONES DO NOT BLOCK OUT OUTSIDE SOUNDS. (I suspect this is because of the VERY nice ear pads, and OVERSIZED headphones). (Personally I like it that way, even though I certainly could appreciate an option to use a noise reduction option, if anyone knows of such a thing being possible on any other headset).
(As of the end of this review, I have been listening for 5 hours, and indeed to my surprise the sound has actually improved (as other reviews have stated)!
MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!
For you folks who are extremely concerned with as close as possible or ABSOLUTE perfection of sound quality..... If you don't already realize it yet...YOU CAN CONSIDER YOURSELF AN AUDIOPHILE. And while I might like to consider that I am also one, by others more specific and experienced references and standards, my rating may MAY NOT apply to you).
Most joking aside, these COULD have been a nice pair of headphones. The build quality was not great, but for a gentle user such as myself it would have posed no problem. The cord was high quality, even if it did reach to the end of my driveway, around the bend and down to the end of my private road. Sonically, even straight out of the carton, for which my chainsaw spat and sputtered in its efforts to get these things open, they seemed quite pleasant. I'm sure with a good burn-in of 40 hours or so they'd be almost sublime. The problem was that getting to experience what might have been I had to continually pick them up off my shoulders, as I found that placing a brick on either shoulder to support them was just a bit too uncomfortable.
So, a simple caveat emptor: You really DO need to have a head that is either so blown up with your own ego, or sized somewhere in between a bowling and a beach ball.
