From Disney and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer comes all the fun, epic adventure and humor that ignited the original. Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. A tale of truth, betrayal, youth, demise - and mermaids! When Jack crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), he's not sure if it's love, or if she's a ruthless con artist using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. Forced aboard the ship of the most feared pirate ever, Jack doesn't know who to fear more -Blackbeard (Ian McShane) or the woman from his past. Directed by Rob Marshall, it's filled with eye-popping battle scenes, mystery and all-out wit.

I digress. I wouldn't say this movie was without its flaws, but I think it's a good starting point for a divergence of Jack--which is actually what I had originally WANTED with the actual sequel (#2, that is). We learn a lot about Jack in this movie. We learn a lot about the people around Jack as well. And we kind of get a sense for how he turned out to be like he is. Not everything, of course--Jack remains, still, quite the complicated fellow--but a lot.
And the rest of the characters, old (like Barbossa) and new (like our lovely love interest), are fantastic. My only complaint about the series is that they still enjoy telling without showing, and they rarely like telling you the whole back story.
But Jack still remains my favorite pirate, and that is, quite frankly, that. I'm actually looking forward to the next.
Pirates OTC has got to be one of the coolest movies out there period! We as a family have enjoyed every single iteration of this series of movies! they just keep getting better! After each one we are like just praying that there will be another and this one in particular left us wanting more! The acting is hilarious, the screen play is exciting and we are taken on an adventure every time! Being able to enjoy this one in 3D was a real treat to the eyes and senses. Please keep in mind that not all 3D TV's are made the same and some do a much better job at rendering 3D than others. Luckily we have a very nice 65" 3D TV that does an excellent job at rendering the most perfect 3D image possible, and in turn we get to enjoy 3D as it is intended to be viewed! So if you have a good 3D TV I would suggest getting this in 3d and enjoying the treat it offers. Also I need to point out that some 3D movies are not done well or done right. However, this one was done VERY well, and done right too!
If your a POTC fan, then don't hesitate and jump right into this one, you'll be glad you did!

Jack Sparrow has been on a journey searching for the Fountain of Youth. However, today, he is posing as a judge in a rouse to try and save Gibbs (Kevin McNally). Knowing Gibbs would end up in the paddy wagon, Jack quickly removes his judge clothing wearing his pirate clothing underneath and gets in the horse carriage with Gibbs. He says he paid the driver to get them outside of London. The plan backfires and they end up at the palace of King George. The King Richard Griffiths) requests Jack look for the Fountain of Youth for His Highness as Spain is already ahead. The King assigns Jack a captain. It is Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush).
