I first got "Pisces,Aquarius,Capricorn and Jones,Ltd. for a Christmas present from my sister Teresa soon after it came out in November 1967.It went to No. 1 on The Billboard Charts and went multi-platinum.I was 11 at the time.Well,I'm 62 now and now I got it on CD and I still Love it.It features their 4th single,"Pleasant Valley Sunday" written by future Rock&Roll Hall of Fame members,Carole King and her then husband Gerry Goffin.Ms.King has a movie and a Broadway musical about her and is a Kennedy Center Honoree. "Words" written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. This went to No.3 on The Billboard Charts.Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork said this was the best song The Monkees ever did!!! "Words" is a good rockin' tune and one of Boyce&Hart's best.!'ve seen The Monkees in concert five times over the past thirty years and they always ended the show with "Pleasant Valley Sunday",(also the show was usually on a Sunday.) This was the group's fourth No. 1,multi-platinum album in a row in one years time. In fact they outsold Elvis,The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined that year 1967.Wow!!!
It's believed The Everly Brothers, popular in the late 1950's, were the grandfather's of Country-Rock.Well,Mike Nesmith is an early pioneer,(an before The Eagles),shows his versitile talent on this album. The songs,"Salesman" and "The Door into Summer" are really good."Love is Only Sleeping" written by future Rock&Roll Hall of Fame members, the husband and wife writing team,Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil is a great song. The song was originally going to be released as a single. It was decided the song may be too suggestive at the time. They decided to release "Daydream Believer" as their fifth single instead.Which went to No.1 on The Billboard Charts for five weeks in a row at Christmastime,1967,a good decision. Then there's "What Am I Doing Hangin' 'Round?", a really great Country-Rock song. Then there's Mike foray into psychedelic-rock with "Daily-Nightly",(with the line,"such anxious men find questions but no answers.") Then there is his mellow take on "Don't Call on Me".
Davy sings "She Hangs Out",a really good rock and roll tune written by Jeff Barry, who was record producer to future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and Kennedy Center Honoree Neil Diamond. And,then there is "Cuddly Toy",written by a then unknown Harry Nillson. This was the only song on the album which all four of them played on.Davy played percussion,Mike played guitar,Peter played piano, and Micky played drums.Davy co-wrote "Hard to Believe",(the only song on the album that I wasn't crazy about;)and then there's Goffin&King's "Star Collector", a cool song about groupies.
Micky sings lead vocal on "Words","Pleasant Valley Sunday" and "Daily-Nightly".Micky played Moog-synthesizer on "Daily-Nightly"This was the very first album to use the electronic synthesizer. It was also used on "Love is Only Sleeping" and "Star Collector".Peter's contribution was the goofy "Peter Percival Patterson's Pet Pig Porky",the backup vocal with Micky on "Words",and playing the keyboards on "She Hangs Out","The Door Into Summer" and "Pleasant Valley Sunday".Peter also played bass, the guitar and banjo. The album was produced by Chip Douglas of the group, "The Turtles." They have said that they don't care if they ever get elected to The Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and Neil Diamond who wrote around a dozen terrific songs for The Monkees are in there and that's good enough.

I wanted this vintage Monkees album to have Michael Nesmith autograph it and hang on the wall, so I called them up (so pleased that they have a phone # to call) and the nice gentleman assured me that the cover condition was very good for signing and that it is an original version. It arrived and was just as he described, the vinyl is also in near perfect condition too, so I just had to play it once before framing. Now that it is adorning our wall I'll have to listen to it on Spotify. It was a fair price too. I can't recommend this seller more highly.

For some odd reason, I am addicted to the Monkees once again, at the ancient age of 56! I am not quite as old as the Monkees themselves ( RIP Davy Jones) but I do have fond memories of watching the strange and un-understandable antics of the four guys on the sadly short lived show. So...I have been trying to find as much of the original Monkee music as I can. This CD is pretty good, it arrived in excellent condition and very well packaged, so far, after several, 5 or so listenings, I am not sick of it yet! Thanks Amazon for refreshing my crumbling memory and giving me a chance to go back, in way, to simpler times, for me anyhow!

I have been looking for this particular CD & was very happy to find it on Amazon. I have several CD's by the Monkees & this one had eluded me for awhile. It came quickly & in very good condition. Some of these songs are among my favorite Monkee tunes. One of my favorite albums (yes I am old enough to remember vinyl albums)!

Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. (PACJ) has suffered from mediocre sound on various tracks since the first CDs were issued in the 1980's. The problem was the lack of a first generation master tape.
While some of the PACJ tracks did squeeze out in remastered form (remixed from the multi-track masters), any full release of Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd., in its original mix, was usually produced from a hodge-podge of sources, including even second generation master copies that were found in Germany.
But several years ago, a first generation stereo master of Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. was finally located. This Deluxe edition marks the first release of the full album remastered from that tape. The sound quality is much improved, with distortion, tape hiss, and drop outs greatly reduced.

I had this album when I was in my teens and enjoyed revisiting my youth

Arrived very fast, I had this album when I was in my teens and enjoyed revisiting my youth, brought back memories of times and friends I haven't thought about in years while I was listening to it. Experimenting with the sound produced by the Moog Synthesizer, quite revolutionary at the time.

I have always been a fan of the Monkees and most of the tracks not from their mainstreem pop period. I found this Album good and would recommend.
