The book is packed full of illustrations, fun facts
about our national parks & animals & there are lots of puzzles, matchgames, mazes--many of each & more. I bought this as a gift for a child but I intend to read it & figure out some of the scrambles & word searches first. It seems to me there's something for everyone. Mr Pish is a talking dog who teaches important & fun stuff. I think I will be reading it to my kids so we can share & discuss it. I'm looking forward to that.
Mr. Pish’s National Park Centennial Celebration Activity Book is chock-full of beautiful black and white photos, coloring pages, easy puzzles for little ones, and more challenging puzzles for older kids and adults. I think it would be a wonderful addition for any educational or personal library.
FYI: Mr. Pish’s National Park Centennial Celebration Activity Book is a paperback edition only. **Originally written for "BigAl’s Books and Pals" book blog. May have received a free review copy.** August 26, 2016
I'm supposed to be reading a children's book for the IU challenge this month, and this book qualifies as that. But some of the puzzles, and even some of the detailed coloring pages, may be a challenge for the smallest readers. No matter, for the traveling terrier does his part, as usual, to encourage everybody to get outdoors and learn about the world around us. I've been visiting national parks since I was four years old, and even I learned some things from this book.
Mr. Pish's National Park Centennial Celebration is available only in paperback. Highly recommended for preparing for your next visit to a national park -- even if you only dream about it.
