Shady Lady is a CLIFF HANGER! Zero stars if I could.
I hate not finishing what I start so I read all of this ridiculous mess and got to the "end" only to discover the story, such as it is, continues in another book. Disgusting! I won't be reading any more by this writer whose name is Adrienne deWolfe OR Adrienne Sobolak depending on where you find her name.
. Every Dodge City lawman you ever heard of is in this and corrupt. The female lead is a whorehouse, wanna-be singer who earns her way on her back. The male lead is a trick gunman/murderer. Such lovely people populate this tale.( Fit you own sound effects here...PHHFFTT!)
The third story is also just an introduction to a book...so another CLIFF HANGER. On this one I checked the end of the story to see if it continued in another book and sure enough, it does. Why waste my time?
Shady Lady - Not my favorite, it was ok - it changed the way I always thought of Wyatt Earp - how much of this is based on fact... I don't know. Seeing things through a young girls eyes as she was and ends up is food for thought.
Probably give this one 3 stars.
Bareback Bride - I laughed and chuckled as his wife soothes Hawke's temper and frustrations with his daughter. He wants his son (the twin of his daughter) to go and check up on her & try to keep her out of trouble. Of course... none of it works...
I enjoyed it and then came full circle back to the parents in the home. Loved it.
Sadie is not really shady to me. She is someone that is trying to live her life. Granted she is not in the best of positions at the beginning but she is trying. I love reading historical books. Especially when the author takes the time to add facts to the story. In Shady Lady readers are greeted with Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp and other famous men from the Wild West.
This was another 5 star read for me. I only had one problem. It ENDED!
One of these days I will kidnap an author, stash them out on the farm with guard bunnies so all the do is write for my enjoyment. The best part of this book, Of course it was Sadie's song.
A wonderful song to go with a wonderful book.
Thanks for another great read Adrienne.
The bunnies and I give this book 5 carrots.
Book 2 was a different take on any romance novel. It was interesting and would now like to read the sequel--can't see how either of them can turn out living very long.
Book 3 is also very good with a different type story and the people who participated in the Wild West shows of that time. Cute
