The concept is relatively simple, two sliders point to a square on the grid where the colored disc will be played. When it is your turn, simply move one of the sliders and put your disc in the squre indicated by the two sliders. The first player to have 3 or 4 in a row, depending on how many players you have, wins. Easy, right? Not so fast!

Imagine it's your turn. Do you: A) Play your piece to your own personal advantage? B) Play your piece in order to block an opponent? C) Play your piece so the sliders are left in a very inconvenient spot for the next player's turn? D) Play your piece in a square hoping to force an opponent to make a poor move, accidentally giving you the advantage?

It's an easy game to play, not necessarily an easy game to win. Sometimes over in just a few moves and sometimes continuing on. Younger children will enjoy it for the moving parts and bright colors and will gradually improve in the strategy. Mom and Dad will enjoy it too and, in fact, we've played several times without the kids so don't consider it a children's game. The one caveat, the player to go first does have a slight advantage, epecially in games with fewer players. So we've taken to drawing to see who goes first. After that, keep your eyes peeled for your opponents strategy, there just might be a pattern hidden in plain sight

This is a really good math game. There is a lot of strategy that goes into it, and can also be a precursor to graphing points (not for my young students, but it would work for older ones).

My only complaint is that it was somewhat poorly put together. The feet on the bottom came off, which was an easy fix (I just hot glued them back on), and one of the sliders is sadly facing the wrong direction (I couldn't fix that). Other than that, I love it!

Fun educational game to play with my grandkids. It's a favorite game at our house. Durable, quick-playing, and uses problem-solving skills, too!
